🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️ Cubs Cycling Night! 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Our Cubs had a fantastic cycling session this week at Waterside with Chris, one of the volunteers from Ride Canvey.

The Cubs had great fun trying out a variety of bikes, trikes and even tandems, while putting their cycling skills to the test on the weaving course. They also learned some important bike maintenance and safety skills, including how to stay safe while cycling, how to find a puncture, and how to repair one.

A huge thank you to Chris and Ride Canvey for giving our Cubs such an enjoyable and educational evening. We all had a wheelie good time! 🚲😊📸

⚽🌍 The Beavers had a fantastic World Cup themed night!

They kicked things off by designing their own football kits, showing plenty of creativity and team spirit. They then worked together in teams to match the flags to the correct countries, testing their knowledge from around the world.

To finish the evening, the Beavers took on an exciting assault course, giving it their all and having lots of fun along the way! 🏃‍♂️

Well done to everyone for a great evening of teamwork, learning and adventure! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The Squirrels worked hard on their Brilliant Builder badge tonight! 🏗️🐿️

We started by talking about different types of housing and the buildings we see when we’re out and about. We also explored the different materials that buildings can be made from and why they are used.

The Squirrels then put their imaginations to work, designing a special building for their favourite toy. ✏️🏠

Once their designs were complete, they brought their ideas to life by building them with LEGO! 🌟🧱

It was fantastic to see so much creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork throughout the evening. Well done, Squirrels 🐿️

This week, the Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers had the pleasure of meeting Arthur, a Yeoman Warder (Beefeater).

Arthur shared his incredible life story, taking us right from the beginning of his journey through to the present day—and what a fascinating story it was!

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed listening and learning about Arthur’s experiences, and there were plenty of questions from the group afterwards.

A huge thank you to Arthur for taking the time to visit us, share his story, and teach us about the important role of a Beefeater. It was a truly memorable evening for all involved.

Tonight Raven made a PowerPoint all about the process of going to Camp America, as she’s heading back for a second time this summer! 🇺🇸☀️

The Scouts then split into teams to take part in an American-themed taste test, trying to guess which sweets and drinks were which! 🍬🥤

The winning team earned themselves some Sour Patch Kids — well done everyone! 👏

A great night had by all, and lots of laughs along the way. Good luck Raven - see you when you’re back!
