There’s something about good food by the Cornish coast that just tastes better 🍴🌊

From fresh fish and seafood to quality Cornish meat and seasonal produce, food sits at the heart of both The Gannet St Ives in Carbis Bay and Basset Arms Portreath in Portreath.

And it all starts with great ingredients. Fresh fish and produce arrive at our doors each morning, with brilliant local suppliers including CelticFish&Game, Brian Etherington Meats and We Shell Crab helping us bring some of the best of Cornwall’s coast and countryside to our menus.

The two inns may have their own character, but they share the same approach – celebrating local ingredients and serving proper, comforting food in relaxed coastal surroundings.

Some dishes never go out of style... 🦐

Our Gannet Prawn Cocktail is a Cornish take on a true classic. Made with plump, locally sourced prawns from CelticFish&Game, it’s served with crisp iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, grapes, dates, sultanas and slices of boiled egg, all finished with our homemade Marie Rose sauce and a side of soft brown bread & butter.

Simple, nostalgic and packed with flavour – it’s the perfect way to start your meal.
