From 1866 to 2026 Still at the Heart of Cardiff
Opened in 1866 The Royal Hotel Cardiff has welcomed guests through the Victorian era two world wars and more than a century of change.
Long before Cardiff became the capital of Wales this historic hotel was already a city landmark welcoming travellers arriving by horse drawn carriage.
Across three centuries generations of guests have celebrated milestones shared stories and rested at the heart of the city as Cardiff grew from a busy port town into the vibrant capital it is today.
As 2026 begins the doors remain open to new memories familiar faces and first time visitors. Thank you to everyone who continues to be part of a story that started in 1866. Here is to the year ahead and many more to come π₯
