To summarise the last 8 months in 20 slides is difficult.
In October 2025, after several attempts, we purchased the garden adjoining Teifi Villa, and took on the challenge of reinstating the overgrown, neglected area into a lovely peaceful sanctuary that it has slowly become.
We have spent all this time:
• clearing years of garden waste,
• flytipping from neighbouring properties (2 trailer fulls to be exact!)
• Pruning & cutting back overgrown trees & shrubs.
• removing stones, concrete & things I don't even want to mention!
Countless days of wheelbarrowing the excess up & down the garden.
Laying turf & planting shrubs
At times we couldn't see we were making any difference at all.
We could have done things a lot quicker if we'd hired professional help, but we wanted time to consider the space & how it would work for our guests.
Then in January 2026 Pembrokeshire Council Contractors decided to use our new garden as a short cut to one of their properties and drive a digger down the middle of it, cutting up the grass and creating a mud bath at what was the wettest time of the year!
"We'll sort it' they said
and used some inferior, cheap grass seeds to rectify the damage they had made.
Unsurprisingly the grass is yet to grow in this area!
So much for 'Sorting it'
A big thank you to our 'Willing Volunteers ' (the boys) for all the man hours they have sacrificed so far.
Part 2 coming next for the Prettier Stuff 😍
