These Dexter cattle have been at the heart of Glaneirw for many years.
Dexter was named the standout winner in a blind tasting of Britain's native cattle breeds by Country Life, highlighting a growing appreciation for native breeds, traditional farming and food produced with care.
At Glaneirw, that recognition came as no surprise.
As the smallest native breed of cattle in the British Isles, Dexters are perfectly suited to slower, grass-based farming systems. They spend their days grazing our pastures in the Cardigan Bay countryside, thriving on good grass, fresh air and plenty of space to roam.
At Glaneirw, animal welfare always comes first. We believe that quality starts with how animals are cared for, and that farming should work with nature, not against it.
For us, this recognition is about more than food. It's about celebrating native breeds, supporting British farming and preserving a way of life that values patience, care and respect for the land.
