Some BIG changes!
As you can probably tell from the photo, there have been some pretty big changes in our lives over the last few years… the biggest being having our children! 😅❤️
And now, there’s another change coming. This time, to Bryn Berwyn.
When we started 5½ years ago, Bryn Berwyn was a simple B&B. Since then, we’ve added more and more strings to our bow: lunches, evening meals, afternoon teas, Sunday lunches, baby showers, private parties, wakes, BBQs, Christmas parties and plenty more in between! 🤭
We have genuinely LOVED doing it. We’re incredibly proud of what Bryn Berwyn has become, and of everything our little family-run business has achieved.
But the reality is that, like so many small hospitality businesses, the current economic climate is making things increasingly difficult.
The cost of energy, ingredients, wages, National Insurance, business rates, VAT, water and almost everything else involved in running a hospitality business has risen significantly. Unfortunately, our margins haven’t risen with them.
We never started Bryn Berwyn to make millions. We wanted to build a lovely local business, provide jobs for local people and earn a reasonable living to support our family.
So rather than keep trying to be everything to everyone, we’ve decided to simplify and take Bryn Berwyn back towards what it started as: a traditional B&B. 🏡
Our restaurant will no longer be open for evening meals, and we will no longer offer Sunday lunches. (Please get in contact if you have a voucher.)
But we certainly aren’t closing!
Bryn Berwyn will remain open 7 days a week, from 8am–6pm, and we’ll still be offering afternoon teas, baby showers and private parties.
We’ll also continue to open the restaurant for larger group bookings, Christmas parties so there will still be plenty happening here.
This isn’t us giving up. Quite the opposite. It’s us adapting Bryn Berwyn so that it remains sustainable, while also giving us a little more time to enjoy the three small people who have rather rapidly taken over our lives. 😂❤️
To everyone who has eaten with us, stayed with us, celebrated with us, worked with us or simply supported us over the last 5½ years, thank you.
We’re incredibly grateful, and we’re excited for this next chapter of Bryn Berwyn. 🏡❤️
