We're lucky to have some exceptional producers right here on our doorstep in West Wales, and this is a fantastic achievement from In the Welsh Wind.

Their Palo Cortado Cask Aged Gin has been named one of the top five matured gins in the world at the World Gin Awards 2026.

If you're staying with us and enjoy discovering local food and drink, West Wales has some real hidden gems, and In the Welsh Wind is certainly one of them. You can book a tour, a Gin tasting and even a Gin making.. check them out, they're just down the road from us!

If you’re staying with us and fancy stepping into somewhere that feels completely untouched, make time for Ty Canol Wood 🌿

Tucked away in the Preseli Hills, this ancient woodland is one of those places that quietly takes your breath away. Twisting oak trees, moss covered boulders, and a stillness you just don’t get in everyday life. It’s been here for thousands of years, and you can feel it.

It’s perfect for a gentle wander rather than a big hike. Think dappled light through the trees, birdsong all around, and the kind of peaceful atmosphere that resets your head in minutes. Our dog Lucy loves it too, with plenty of space for her to run and explore.

Pair it with a visit to nearby Pentre Ifan, a dramatic Neolithic burial chamber just up the road, and you’ve got a day out that feels a little bit magical.

No crowds, no rush, just fresh air and something a bit special 🌿
