Hello,

Myself and Alex at Temple View Hotel would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that we’ve met and helped us along the way in our first season. We’ve had a great first season and that’s down to our lovely staff and the great local community.

We planned to do meals for non residents in October but remained really busy up until we went away with a lot of last minute bookings. So we are planning on doing some festive lunches end of November in to December period. We will post on here when we have the dates and how to book.

Thanks again to the brilliant local community that’s supported us. :)

Been a tough few days here at Temple View, but a great community around us has eased the stress. A beautiful sunset last night, attacked by midges but worth it!

Big thank you to Black Isle Brewery for our new gear for the bar! Had our cans arrive a few days ago and they are now chilling in the fridge ready for thirsty guests! Delighted to be able to say all our bottled and canned alcohol (and 0%) is now Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We've been so inspired lately! We've had the pleasure of hosting some incredible bird spotting groups and nature enthusiasts here at Temple View, and their passion for local wildlife is truly contagious. It's made us realize how much amazing animal and bird life is right on our doorstep! 🐦🦌🦊 We're now on a mission to try and capture some of these incredible creatures (with our cameras, of course!). Keep an eye out for some basic shots from the camera (still learning) and even more basic shots from the drone!

And for number 1 on our list, we have the Short Eared Owl. Took 4 separate occasions of running upstairs to get the camera to achieve these 🥲

The Short Eared Owl

-They often hunt during the day, unlike most owls, making them easier to spot.

-They nest on the ground in open habitats, laying their eggs in shallow scrapes.

-Their ear tufts are very small and often not visible, despite their name, leading many to think they have no ear tufts at all.

Hello Everyone,

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve just taken ownership of the beautiful and already thriving Temple View Hotel, North Uist on the 4th of April.

A huge thank you to the previous owners Susan and Steven for everything they’ve done. The care and attention they’ve put into the hotel is truly incredible thanks to them, all we have to do is move in and carry on the journey. They supported us throughout this long process and continue to do so now, we are extremely grateful.

We’re also incredibly lucky to have had the nicest guests so far. We couldn’t do it without the hard work from everyone involved. Everyone we have met on the island has been so welcoming and a rare breed of just lovely people.

We’re really looking forward to this new chapter and can’t wait to welcome guests both familiar faces and new ones through our doors. The kettle is always on so pop in if you are passing.

Last weekend we were delighted to host the PR & Media team from Ferrari Northern Europe.

They brought with them 2 new stunning Ferrari's to photoshoot in Uist & Barra for their website.

It was a pleasure to host them.
