Our 94 spacious bedrooms and fully equipped Conference and Banqueting facilities, with an ideal central location, make the Crown and Mitre a perfect choice for business or pleasure. We get lots of lovely comments about our location and we love being right in the centre of Carlisle 😊

The Cathedral, Castle and Tullie Museum are all just a short walk from the hotel, so there’s plenty of the city’s history to explore right outside our doors…

One recent guest stayed with us while visiting Carlisle to learn more about it’s history and left this lovely review:

“Location was great, close to the castle and museum. Obviously it’s rich in heritage, so it was fantastic. Staff were amazing, and dining for breakfast and dinner was really yummy and good value for money.”

It was lovely to see such a brilliant turnout for the last Empty Chairs evening, so we’re really pleased to be hosting the next one back in the Mitre Bar this Saturday!

Empty Chairs brings people together in a friendly, welcoming space where anyone can come along, enjoy some company and meet someone new.

There’s no need to book and no pressure to stay for the whole evening. Just pop in and look for Claire in her orange t-shirt and pull up a chair…

Can you believe it’s only 100 days until Christmas and we’ve only got ONE Christmas party night date left? 🎄🥂

If you’re still looking for somewhere for your Christmas get together, we have availability on Friday 4th December but as it’s our final date, we’d recommend getting in touch soon!

We also have dates available for festive lunches and smaller Christmas gatherings throughout December so if a big party night isn’t quite your thing, you can still get everyone together and celebrate over some delicious festive food with us 🍽️
