It wasn't all work and no play a few weeks ago. We did manage to take an afternoon off, and visited the Port of Ness, Port Stoth beach and the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse, just to relax a bit. A beautiful day and stunning place.

Just thought I’d share this post from the Carloway Community Shop to give you an idea of what you can find there.
It is in the village at the old school, 1/2 mile from ‘Come By’ and is well worth a visit.

Today we have Cullen skink and tomato and butterbean soup(v), along with a selection of freshly made sandwiches and homebaking.
Kitchen service12 - 2 and self service drinks and baking until 5.00
The shop is well stocked too😀

The Dunan Hotel is just over 1 mile from Come By. Here you can find a bar and restaurant which this season is under new ownership.
Although we haven’t yet managed along for a meal, we have heard nothing but excellent reports about it.
Well worth a visit 👍

We were at ‘Come By’ a few weeks ago to carry out some maintenance and improvements before the season opened.
Garden tidied, new bedding and chest of drawers for twin bedroom, better, comfier arm chairs in living room and the kitchen and porch freshly decorated.
All sorted for our new guests 😊
