Anfodd Countryside Retreats There is a two bedroom letting cottage which is all on one level with parking for two vehicles.

The cottage has a private garden with seating and outside dining table. There is a brick built BBQ complete with all equipment along with a hot tub. The cottage is finished to a high specification and comes complete with all linens, towels and robes. The kitchen is equipped with everything to make simple meals or to accommodate budding chefs. There is a log burner if you want a cozy fire and the cottage has under floor heating to ensure you are always warm and toasty.

The end of a week off from the "day job". The stock answer to "do anything nice with your time off?" will be "just a few bits and pieces off the to-do list". The few bits being....weed and tidy three garden borders and a poly tunnel, fill and then plant two raised beds with strawberry plants, oil the office and the garden kitchen, reorganise the duck pens and build a new pond.

We spend so much time focussed on the task in hand we don't always appreciate some of the smaller things happening in our garden. So we took the evening to just wander around and look....and not create a new "to do" list.

We are fortunate to be situated in close proximity to an array of exceptional castles and gardens within our county, all of which are readily accessible from our location. Our accommodations serve as an ideal hub for day excursions to explore the county, allowing guests to return to a comfortable retreat to relax and unwind at the end of the day.

I hope our guests appreciate the sacrifices I make when it comes to taste testing potential new optional extras. Homemade chocolates.....go on then! We might not be able to host guests yet, but that isn't stopping us working on our plans for future offerings.
For us it's about offering something made here on site that is as unique as the stay itself. We want to share some of the lifestyle experiences that led us to come here in the first place and homemade or home baked is just so much better than fresh out of a packet.

Time for a quick flash back. Our homemade afternoon tea option has always been very popular with guests. Whether it's celebrating a special occasion; a nice treat to look forward to after a day exploring the local area or just because! 😃 Don't worry, it will be available along with a host of other optional treats once we are welcoming guests back to stay.

The hot weather slowed progress but the old cement render is slowly coming off. It's a lovely opportunity to see the original walls. Unfortunately we will need to cover them back up but you can't help wondering what it might have looked like if the original conversion work had been a little more sympathetic to the original construction.
