It’s a little montage for you this evening, as Sunday is the most popular evening for bookings coming in. Maybe we can entice you to click ‘book now’ on our website when you see the woodpecker in the garden, breakfast options and our Thornton Room.
Following chats and local information shared with guests, we’ve written “Steve and Sue’s tips on making the most of your stay”. More on that later.
Head to the first comment for more details.

We’re so thrilled when guests take time to recommend Harling House following their Bed & Breakfast stay, so hope you don’t mind us sharing these latest reviews.
There’s a couple of tasters for breakfast service too.
Thank you for taking a look at our website and considering a stay. Recent guests have enjoyed the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, pottery workshops at Bentham Pottery, Westhouse Walks hikes, Whitescar Caves and hiking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

Did you see our ‘history’ post last week?
This week, whilst garden updating, Stephen unearthed a Miner’s token or tag. It is engraved ‘The New Ingleton Colliery Ltd’ with number 121.
We wonder if this belonged to William Metcalfe, perhaps a local/mining historian has access to the records.

This is why we recommend that our guests book their table for dining, phoning up in advance. La Tavernetta is less than a 15 minute stroll from your stay at Harling House, ideal to walk off your meal.

New specials !!!! We have teamed up with a small local farm and we can’t wait for you to try !!!!!

We’ve made a little ‘cubby’ in the breakfast room. Here you’ll find a bit of history on the top shelf including a photograph of the couple that built the house, William and Mary Ann Metcalfe. Then there’s glasses to help yourself if you fancy a drink, maybe in the guests’ lounge.
Of course, you know what the cake stands are used for.
We’ll see if returning guests notice our changes, many do.

It's a HUGE 'Thank you', as we took on Harling House 12 years ago.

On 12th May 2014, we picked up the keys and the transformation began.

May is the 150th anniversary of passenger travel on the Settle-Carlisle line and lots of our guests enjoy the wonderful ‘line that refused to die’ by either taking a train journey, visiting the heritage stations or admiring the wonderful Ribblehead Viaduct. There's a refurbished visitor area and cafe at Ribblehead station too.

Thank you for choosing Harling House and helping us to -
Achieve The Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award each year,
Gain guests' average stay of 3 nights (perhaps it's our 10% saver),
Have a high percentage of returning guests,
Be proud of our Google Reviews,
Continue to make improvements and strive in business.

Worth popping in your calendar to include in your next stay -
Ingleton heated outdoor pool re-opens on 22nd May
'Rachel in the Dales' Pottery spring workshops - 23rd May, 1st June & 8th June.
Free 'have a go' at Settle Station Signal Box on Saturdays
Ingleton 1940s event (only our single room available) - 3rd - 5th July
Guided walking tours of Settle - 2pm on Thursdays
Settle Flowerpot Festival (not just for children)11th July - 6th September
Ingleton Gala - 18th July
Yarndale event, Skipton, 26th & 27th September
