We've already had one mum hatch a clutch of eggs this week but this is another actually in the process. We think she had about 14 eggs in the nest so we will see how many ducklings we have by the end of the day 🤞

Winter has officially returned this morning!!

Also falling up Cairngorm Mountain with snow showers and some sunshine forecast into the weekend!! We are expecting -8 or -9 in the village tonight so the snow is likely to hang around for a bit!!!

The snow didn't arrive in time for Christmas but we're certainly getting a White New Year!!!

Couple of pictures from between the snow showers today with more to follow, possibly until Tuesday!!

The lodges are looking pretty good in the snow with their updated paint jobs!!

About 6cms in Carrbridge with more flurries forecast for today and tomorrow. Temperatures set to remain around zero into next week so great conditions for sledging and winter walks if you fancy a last minute getaway. We have two lodges available this weekend......

The crew from Carrbridge Fire Station were up tonight using our grounds to conduct a training session and practise drills to develop their skills in fighting wildfires. Up on the hills they often need to draw water from natural sources if they can't get an appliance close to the scene. Our lochan was the perfect test case.

Not sure the resident ducks were entirely happy about all the activity but the plants around the grounds very glad of a watering given the prolonged spell of dry weather recently!

We have just taken a cancellation for the last weekend of August which also happens to be the weekend of Carve Carrbridge, the Scottish Open Chainsaw Carving Championship.

This is a great event and the atmosphere in and around the village is terrific.
