What a bittersweet day it is. 💗
The good news is that The George will still be open for another two months, with our final closing date as the the end of September. Business as usual until then‼️
The sad news is that today we say goodbye to our incredible manager, Pip. ☹️🩷
Pip, you are one of the most amazing people we have ever had the privilege of knowing. An incredible manager, a wonderful friend and parent. Over your 10 amazing years at The George, you’ve touched the lives of so many people. I can’t imagine how many faces have lit up walking through those doors and seeing you behind the bar, ready with a smile, a chat, and a warm welcome.
You are truly a friend to everyone, and The George simply won’t be the same without you. You are the heart of this place, the one who keeps the fire burning, no matter what.
Now it’s time for your next chapter, and your George family promise to be your biggest supporters. We know you’re going to do amazing things at The White Hart, and we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. Keep championing your community, keep chasing your dreams, and never stop being unapologetically you.

Today also marks the end of a chapter for me (Tiana), along with our wonderful Grace and Brooke. We all love The George more than words can say, and we are so grateful for every memory, every friendship, and every laugh we’ve shared here. While it’s hard to say goodbye, we’re excited for the new adventures that await us. Thank you Grace, and Brooke for your unwavering commitment to the pub and customers and we wish you all the luck in your future endeavours.
We have loved and lost many of our incredible staff this month, including our Head Chef Gene, who has headed off on a new adventure, Max and Ben from our kitchen team have both gone off to do incredible things. And we will ultimately be loosing the whole network of staff at the George who have worked so hard to create the most incredible environment for our town and community.
