Our Story
We are Robert & Lisa Goodwin, we moved to Crossmichael in 2020 with our three daughters, our two Jack Russell’s and our cat! In June 2022 Robert made the decision to leave his job as a Head Chef and focus on running the business. We can’t wait to welcome you to Kirkhill and you can be assured of a hearty breakfast and a very warm welcome from all of us! Our co
ttage is a traditional Galloway cottage dating back to 1880, we have extensively refurbished Kirkhill and added a modern twist. Kirkhill is nestled between the shores of Loch Ken and the small historic hamlet of Crossmichael, only three miles from the market town of Castle Douglas which is also known as the “Food Town”. Kirkhill is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Dumfries and Galloway has an abundance of places to visit and see. Stunning countryside and coastal areas with the Galloway Forrest dark skies right on our doorstep. We have a great pub in the village a very short stroll down the street from us. Lovely for a drink or two and they provide fantastic food too, its well worth a visit. There are also many wonderful eateries in the surrounding area. Our Rooms
We have two bedrooms twin/double or single occupancy both en suite. One of our rooms overlooks Crossmichael church and our other room has patio doors accessing the garden with stunning views of the Loch. Lovely comfy hotel connections beds
