Walk is around 90 mins and £20 a head (Kids go free but must accompanied by an adult)

🍲 Food - Food - Food 🍲

Been a good few weeks trying out new dishes for the menu and retaining popular classics.

We welcome large groups but booking is essential! Unlike this lovely lot of 13 that unexpectedly appeared, hungry for food. A combination of their patience and our quick kitchen skills ensured they left happily fed.❤️

✨It often intrigues me why people travel to visit our island. Through my time, I have met so many amazing people and although our encounters are brief, the impact can last forever…….like my guest experienced.

He visited Barra in 1965. It took him nearly 60 years to return. A trip he longed to make.

There was a storm and as they were camping, their tent was destroyed. They ran to the nearest house in darkness and an older couple took them in. Strangers. But they were fed, kept warm and given a bed. “Mr & Mrs MacNeil”. Probably no longer but did I know them? He had never forgotten their kindness. MacNeil’s in 1965….a needle in a haystack.

The following morning checking out he said “I found a photo of Mr & Mrs MacNeil”. I looked. It was my grandparents and the house I was brought up in. (after renovation). Sadly he never got to thank them personally again as they were no longer but he met me! Their granddaughter.

His final trip to Barra brought closure. And I gained a photo of my granny and gen ❤️

🌊 Turbulent Atlantic seas today at Allasdale beach. That energy and power should never be underestimated. The tourism season always hopes for good weather. But at times, isn’t wave watching just fascinating…from a distance 😬❤️
