My 1st class guest left early this morning.

I had very few guests kept the spaces so tidy & clean in my entire Airbnb business started 11 years ago.

This young man stripped the bedding linens off the bed nearly bundled up & folded the duvet, pillows on top. AND he left "thank you gift" for us. It is so nice feeling when the guests shows their appreciation ❤️.

It's a hard work but it makes all the effort worthwhile.

April and May have become busy months, as the weather improving warmer and warmer.

As there's Piregrims Way to Canterbury near where we reside, this area is quite popular for walking visitors.

We had a Dutch guest walking across UK over 3 months a few days ago, and we're expecting a couple staying for Piregrims Way to Canterbury next week. So, the regime of cleaning, washing and ironing is getting rather demanding. Hope the sunny weather continues for the next week 🤞

Today is once a year Laundrette Day, to refresh Duvets, at a local laundrette, preparing for Winter coming.
It's an ideal season to do the task during summer, while only a sheet & a beadspread are used for the guests.
Laundry takes about 1 hour, while having a cup in a cafe, just a few doors down the street.

うちのお布団は羽布団(ダウン入り)、夏中に年1回のお洗濯。キングサイズは家の洗濯機には入りきれないので、ランドリーで。1時間余りの待ち時間は2～3件下がったカフェで。

My worst experience in the past 8 years hosting with Airbnb 🥺

So, I received 2 booking requests which I duly accepted & confirmed on Airbnb online system.

They are young French Parisian, 2 girls & a boy, who are planning to go to P!NK'S SUMMER CARNIVAL 2023 in Hyde Park, London.

They booked 2 rooms for 3 nights from last Friday, but the stay ended just for 1.5 nights, resulting unfortunate option of chucking them out on 2nd day.

From day 1 it all went wrong , clearly they didn't read the house rules, & their behaviour to treat us like they're staying at a hotel, not in a hospitable someone's private house.

They went out & come in as they pleased, at middle of night, helping themselves to spaces that they're not allowed to go in. We don't give our house keys to any guest, so the communications with guests are essential - this sadly wasn't adhered by them. We ended up staying up late, & waken up at 1-3am stupid-clock to see to them !!! Where is their common sense!!!

I spent whole this morning inspecting, cleaning the rooms, & getting very unhappy with fury 😡

So my sincere message to all prospective guests, we welcome you with our utmost hospitality, but please read carefully about my accommodation in detail, & keep in touch with communication at all times. We do our best to make your stay with us comfortable & enjoyable one. 🙂

The past 2 weeks have been quite busy with the guests in & out.

* 11 nights by a fiber broadband cabler.
* 4 nights by a college teacher.
* 1 night by a lady from Scotland.
* 2 nights by an exchange student from New York.

So you can imagine what my piled up laundry is like for the past few days.
So relieved to have some sunshine to dry them all outside with the fresh air yesterday & today.

Was expecting another guests arriving tomorrow, but it was cancelled in the last minute. It is rather discouraging to have a last minute cancellation, as I lost an opportunity to fill in the empty room, & cancellation policy was to refund full. This sort of case happened a couple of times, & made me to re- think my cancellation policy. It is rather demeaning of me, but I will have to review the situation...

この2週間はお客様の出入り、そしてお問い合わせがあり、嬉しい忙しさが続いています。今朝は2件のお客様をお送りし、昨日今日は洗濯/アイロンかけで疲れました。雨天が多かった日は、昨日今日の晴天で一転、全部乾きました🎵
