Tucked away on the Glen Dye Estate in Kincardineshire, this one sleeps 4 across 2 bedrooms. There’s a wood-fired hot tub in your own private yard, a log burner for when the Scottish air does its thing, and a Gozney pizza oven plus Big Green Egg for anyone who takes dinner outside seriously. South-facing windows keep the countryside views coming even when you haven’t left the sofa.

Beyond the door: 15,000 acres of estate to explore, a sauna and plunge tanks at the Discovery Centre, and a general store for when you inevitably forget something.

Say hello to the newest name on the Anglesey map: Ambleside.

Sitting in Rhosneigr on the island’s west coast, it sleeps 12 across 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. A great family stay, with your own hot tub and sea views thrown in.

The village is a short stroll away too, shops, cafés and a pub or two, so the car can stay parked once you’ve unpacked. Outside there’s a private hot tub doing exactly what a sea view hot tub should do, and inside, a wood burning stove for when the wind picks up (this is Anglesey, it will). Recently refurbished, open plan, and dogs are very welcome.

Robin Hood hid here. Secret church services happened here. Even the devil gets blamed for it. Not bad for one crack in the rock.

Lud’s Church is an 18 metre chasm cut into the Roaches by a landslip, and moss has since claimed every inch of it, floor to top. Walk in from the wide, bright openness of the Roaches and the whole world changes colour within about ten steps.

Every ledge down there looks like it’s hiding something, and 600 years ago, some of them were. A banned religious group, the Lollards, used to hold secret church services in here to avoid getting caught. Robin Hood and Friar Tuck are also said to have hidden out here, though neither left a review.

Fair warning: the steps are steep and the rock stays damp, so wear proper shoes, not trainers. You can walk in from the Roaches, the Back Forest or Gradbach.

This is the one we’ve been quietly sitting on until it was ready. Meet Rhosneigr Hall.

Eleven bedrooms, six bathrooms (plus two spare downstairs, just in case), and space for 22 across the Isle of Anglesey coast. There’s a hot tub, a sauna, a yoga cabin for whoever insists on a sunrise stretch, and a games room with a pool table, darts lane and its own casino bar. Yes, really.

For actual daylight, there’s an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven, private gardens to spread out in, and Rhosneigr’s sandy beach and watersports scene five minutes down the road.

This is the “which room am I in” kind of holiday home. Sleeps a small wedding, comfortably.

How much garden is too much garden? Coastal Manor says there’s no such thing.

Meet Coastal Manor, a Georgian country house on the Llŷn Peninsula with grounds that do a lot of the entertaining for you. Five acres of private garden, a gas BBQ smoking away, and outdoor seating scattered about for whichever faction needs to sulk in private after Monopoly.

Wander far enough and you’re on coastal walks with dolphins and seals doing their own thing offshore, beaches within 3 miles, and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park sitting right on the doorstep for anyone who suddenly remembers they like hiking.

Inside, it sleeps 20 across 10 bedrooms, all en-suite (we counted twice), a proper bar, and a wine wall that’s clearly seen things.

Ski season has a funny way of sneaking up while you’re still deciding on summer plans 🎿

The Farmstead Collection just got bigger. Say hello to Wagon Lodge.

Two king bedrooms (one ensuite), two nook beds tucked in for the kids, a Japanese soak tub for whichever adult gets there first, and a kitchen island built for making a proper mess of breakfast. Log burner inside, Gozney pizza oven and Kamado Joe out on the terrace, which looks straight over the shared pool (and, more to the point, the goats).

Ten acres of farm to get lost in: Kune Kune pigs, Pygmy goats, Valais Blacknose sheep, donkeys, alpacas and chickens who clearly think they run the place. Woodland walks start right at the door, and the Suffolk coast (Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich) is a short drive for anyone who needs the sea. Wood-fired hot tub arrived this summer. Dogs welcome.

Sleeps 4, and the terrace opens straight onto neighbouring Harness Room and Wood Shed if there’s more of you coming.

Skylark Cottage is the newest addition to the collection, a restored farmhouse tucked into the Yorkshire Dales, five minutes from Skipton.

Each of the three bedrooms comes with its own ensuite and a super king zip-and-link bed that splits into twins, so the “who’s sharing with who” conversation can happen after booking instead of before.

There’s a private garden, a log burner for when the Dales weather does what it does, and is a sustainable stay. Fancy a swim? Avalon Wellbeing Centre is five minutes down the road, pool and sauna included, plus breakfast’s on the house at the bistro if you’re up before everyone else on a weekday. Dogs are welcome.
