Introducing the beautiful Rosie.

Rosie is quieter than the other ladies, she is every bit a posh bird, quiet, shy and timid. We love her apricot colourings are stunning and she lays wonderful green / blue eggs for our guests. She certainly doesn’t follow the crowd and insists on laying her eggs anywhere but the nesting boxes! 🐓

Tell us you are in Somerset without telling us? 🤣 Today our wonderful apple trees had a little shake to harvest the fruits, they will travel a very short distance to be made into delicious cider.

This is a long standing tradition at , where you will find Cider Barn & Apple Cottage. Apple cottage used to store the apples, Cider Barn held the Cider press and we are very lucky to still have the press onsite for a little bit of history. 🫶🏻

Looking for a chilled date night while staying with us at Lakehayes? Or a rainy day activity? They also do kids movie showings in the afternoon!

Last night we took the short drive into Lyme Regis and visited for dinner and a movie night in their cellar. Food was scrummy, we had loaded fries and pizza, great mix of beers and cocktails too, then we got comfy in the cellar on our sofa for a film! Was the perfect evening and we highly recommend this for our guests. Take a look at their screenings and we would always book in advance as limited space (6 sofas!), so check it out for a relaxed fun time!

All our guests receive eggs in their welcome pack from hens within 100 metres of their cottage door. Our flock of 9 girls within the paddock produce mid brown, dark brown, white, blue and olive colour eggs.

Another day, another visit to Abbots Table at Ford Abbey. We think we might be addicted to the savoury cheese scones and homemade chutney, such a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!

A fab afternoon at Ford Abbey fruit farm, picking some raspberries and recalling childhood memories of being told not too eat too many on the way round! We encourage our guests to explore as much as they can and this is a lovely activity for all ages!

Introducing the second of the Lakehayes flock. This is the very cheeky toe pe**er that is RUBY! A firm favourite with us but carrying so much sass with her in everything she does! Those staying with us, will often see her running wild and free somewhere she shouldn’t be!
