Fancy a self catering break in the beautiful English countryside? Come and try our glamping experience on the borders of Somerset, Devon and Dorset.

At Driftaway Camping there are only the 2 tents to chose from, which means we keep thing relaxed, with never more than 12 people on the entire site.

Prices are affordable so why not book a stay with us:

Safari tent OR Yurt:

High season: Weekday £99/night | Weekend £143/night
Low season: Weekday £88/night | Weekend £115/night

Have the entire site to yourselves, safari tent AND yurt:

Alternatively, check out the yurt set amongst the trees in our beautiful woodland. There's a comfy double bed plus 2 pull out beds for children.

Once again, the emphasis is on 'keeping the camping in glamping', so don't expect luxury Aga stoves, butler sinks and posh linen. Driftaway Glamping is more about camping in total comfort than glamping in cosseted luxury, whilst being as sustainable as possible.

Try out some glamping in the Safari tent at Driftaway Glamping in the Somerset countryside. It's simple, but clean and comfortable with everything you need for a well earned rest.
It sleeps 2 adults, plus 2 children in pull out beds and well behaved dogs are welcome too.

Crikey... Driftaway Glamping will be open again in just 4 days time on the 1st April. We've had lots of return guests booking up already, which must show that we are doing something right.
So, if you are looking for a 'back to basics' glamping experience we still have some dates available over the Easter holidays.
And remember, with only the 2 tents you can book them both and have the entire site to yourselves (along with the Easter bunnies, of course).

This little fella just popped out in to the world as I was cycling past this morning. She couldn’t have picked a better morning; deer roaming around the Driftaway glamping site, wild cherry blossom in bloom, plus bluebells alongside the last of the daffs , not to mention mayflower everywhere. The nearby Chard Reservoir nature reserve also looked rather special this morning. You should come and stay!

New season, new Driftaway Glamping web site.
Well, it's taken some time but the first iteration of our new web site is now live. So, if you're interested in a self catering glamping break in the beautiful countryside on the Somerset, Devon and Dorset borders, then please take a look. www.driftawaycamping.co.uk
There's just the safari tent set in a beautiful meadow and a yurt set on the edge of our woodland, so it's nice and secluded and never crowded. In fact, if you book them both out you and your family or friends can have the entire site to yourselves with, no one else around. Camp fires are encouraged so come and try your hand at some camp fire cooking whilst star-gazing. You might even see some of the plentiful wildlife too.

“ Liked: Absolutely everything! Couldnt fault our stay whatsoever! Liz and Nigel were fantastic! The quality, customer service and experience was truley outstanding! So much thought and effort put into this wonderful place! Beautifully decorated tents with comfy beds! Had everything from fairy lights to the kitchen sink.. quite literally! There was marshmallows for the kids, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, even dog treats, cooking oil and washing up stuff. Spare blankets, toys, games and books.. everything you could need! The shower facilities were wonderful! Fridges to keep food cold. Everything was immaculate! The place felt very private and had wonderful little trails in the woods with rope swings and streams. If you're quiet you'll even see the odd deer.. lots of space to enjoy! Loved the fossil hammer and lovely guest book to read! Truly a wonderful experience for young and older. Lots of nice things to do a short car ride away.. really was an exceptional experience that none of us will ever forget! Thank you so much Liz and Nigel for making such a wonderful place for others to enjoy! Will definitely be recommending and revisiting!

“Driftaway Glamping is a hidden gem. Tucked away in the woods, it was the perfect family escape. Our two little girls were enchanted with the little touches like fairy doors hidden in the woods, and the rope swing!
We loved the tucked away, private location of the yurt and it was such a peaceful spot. Don't expect boutique, luxury toiletries in the bathroom - this was everything you want from a real camping escape but without the hard work!
Nigel and Liz are the perfect hosts, on hand for anything you may need, whilst giving you space and privacy. Seeing our 4 year old collect eggs with Liz this morning was the perfect way to end our mini trip getting back to nature. Thank you so much. We can't wait to return!”

Thought I'd try to post a video of the badger cubs at Driftaway Camping in Somerset.
Although we're filling up fast we still have dates available to come and stay in either our woodland yurt or the safari tent set in the meadow. And because we have only the 2 tents, you can book both of them and have the entire site to yourselves - perfect for COVID safe camping in the UK so you can remain safe and distanced from, well, everyone else!

First badger cubs have emerged at Driftaway Camping!
It's been superb to see 2 wee badger cubs emerge from their sett recently. I say 'wee', they are actually much bigger than I expected so I presume they spend the first week or so below ground before mum and dad allow them out.
They don't appear to have been allowed to stray far from the sett but am hoping to get more pictures over the coming days. Picture quality remains poor (I blame myself for that), but I do have quite a lot of video footage too.
The Driftaway Glamping site is ringing with the sound of woodpeckers, both spotted and green, along with field fares, cuckoos, jays and heron, so although we've not yet welcomed any campers, our glamping site, set on the borders of Somerset, Devon and Dorset, is bursting with life already. www.driftawaycamping.co.uk
