What a coincidence our first guests have arrived back at Smiths Farm on the same day that our pair of Swallows return to their summer home in our workshop.

Springstorms and the tides of March have brought the dinosaurs out to play on the jurassic coast. Looking forward to welcoming guests back to stay in a month. (Fingers crossed).

Here at Smiths Farm we've been trying to get on with a few jobs during lockdown (albeit on a shoestring budget) in preparation for reopening someday. At least now when we do reopen we'll be a bit easier for guests to spot from the road.

Well as of the 31st we will be going into tier 3 and as per government guidance we will be closing. We remain open for rental by people who need accommodation outside of holidaying, such as house moves, shielding etc... stay safe everyone.

A wonderful nursery flock of swallows building up as all the local fledglings feed up. Hard to see on the video but at least two dozen birds feeding around Smiths Farm now. Including our own 4 fledglings.

Our brave little swallows are trying extra hard with their second clutch after the first ones fell prey to a raiding magpie. There are four chicks in that nest!
