Our 1,000th post and counting.

We have extended our Christmas Fayre days to include Mondays and Tuesdays as the response has been more than encouraging and positive.

Dates are filling up and we strongly recommend getting your return menu pro formas as our numbers are now into the three figures and some dates are not available with Christmas Fayre bookings and parties etc.

We can accommodate with ease up to 60+ people in one sitting and our track record over the years proves this. We have one of the largest commercial kitchen facilities, experience and expertise in the area.

Sundays are still reserved and preserved as Sunday Roast days. Otherwise we offer 12 opportunities for the rest of week, 2 a day Monday through to Saturday.

All we ask is accuracy on bookings and requirements. The sheet where 10 more bookings will greatly assist you. We will do the rest and we look forward to seeing everyone enjoying themselves in true Cross Keys style.

We are really pleased to announce the Raffle Tickets for Chatteris Christmas Lights have been handed over to the committee.

We wish them well in their endeavour to fund raise and we actively promote the sales and support of all the good work and acheievements they do as a team.

Please remember, they are all volunteers most with a full-time job and their commitment is unwavering. Rain, snow, headaches et al do not stop the spirit of the lights.

There is always a requirement for help. If you can donate any time we can point you to the right person.

** The Cross Keys Pub Quiz ***
is set to run this Sunday with the longest running pub quiz in Chatteris on 27th September 2026 with our most regular, Julian Frost.

This is your opportunity to support the Chatteris Crown Jewels, the Christmas Lights. 100% of the entry takings going to the town's much needed Christmas Lights appeal.

Everyone will be seeing them soon as they brave the weather, spend what little spare time they have as volunteers and bring regional footfall into the town to marvel at such an incredible sight.

The six section headings written by Julian are;

Section 1 - Alias Smith and Jones
Section 2 - Around the sporting world in 12 months
Section 3 - The Great British Pub Round
Section 4 - September through the Ages
Section 5 - Lost in Translation
Section 6 - Where am I

Here's how it works:

Registration is from 7:30 pm with the kick-off at 8:00 pm and it's first come for first choice of seats/ table. Teams of up to five and we are asking a nominal £1.50 per person; but please feel free to donate what you like.

There will be a half-way break with nibbles and a chance to mix and network. After the second half we then wrap up with some nice prize giving for first, second and which ever team may come last, as follows:

1. First Prize - A £50 Food & Drinks gift voucher at The Cross Keys (T&C's apply).
2. Second Prize - A nice bottle of something nice (and most alcoholic)
3. Last Place (is it a prize?) - Well it always is a surprise...

We know it's going to be a great night, so come along and enjoy an absolute hoot of a night!

🧀 THE PLOUGHMAN’S HAS LEFT THE BUILDING… WELL, ALMOST. 🍎

There are lunches.

And then there are Ploughman’s lunches.
