🚢☀️ Day 6 onboard Explora Journeys — a sea day!

This was the day I was really interested to experience… what does Explora feel like when everyone is onboard for a full sea day?

As you know, some cruise ships can feel a little busy when everyone is making the most of the facilities, so I was keen to see how this one felt.

Well, I have to say, it was a real surprise! 😍

There were plenty of sun loungers around the pools, and we had no problem finding somewhere to relax. There are four pools onboard, so plenty of choice for a change of scenery! 🍹☀️

The café was a little busier just after breakfast, but I still managed to find a seat — which meant I could catch up on emails and get a few holiday quotes done. 😂💻

Even the indoor spaces never felt overly crowded. It honestly felt so spacious and relaxed, even with everyone onboard.

Explora I is giving me the feel of a luxury hotel at sea, with a small-yacht atmosphere — elegant surroundings, personalised service, beautifully designed spaces and the freedom to enjoy your day at your own pace. It feels less about rushing from one activity to another and more about enjoying the whole experience.

A few cocktails this afternoon and a much-deserved rest… 🥂 I could get used to this!

Tomorrow we're heading to Milos, Greece 🇬🇷 and we've definitely followed the sunshine on this trip! 🌞

Another lovely evening ahead with gorgeous food and entertainment… and perhaps a little visit to the casino too! 🎰😂

I'm really getting a feel for what makes Explora different, and that feeling of space and relaxed luxury has genuinely surprised me.

Well this really is a luxury hotel suite at sea...

✨ Now THIS is a suite! 😍🚢

I was lucky enough to be shown around the Cocoon Residence on Explora II, and wow… what a space!

At 149 sqm, it’s more like a luxury apartment at sea than a cruise suite, with beautiful living and dining areas, a gorgeous bedroom and the most incredible 75 sqm private terrace at the back of the ship! 🌊

And yes, it has its own whirlpool, sun loungers and outdoor dining area… imagine relaxing out there with a glass of something chilled while watching the world go by! 🥂🍹

There’s also personalised Residence Host service, with those extra touches that make the experience feel really special.

Definitely a different level of luxury cruising! 💙

Explora Journeys is certainly one to look at if you love space, exceptional service and a more exclusive feel when you travel.

This modern, adults-only hotel’s ideal for those who fancy the quieter side of island life. It’s located in sleepy Afytos village on Halkidiki’s Kassandra peninsula and is just a 15-minute stroll from the soft sands of Afytos Beach.

A typical day here is spent lazing on a sun lounger punctuated by the odd dip in the outdoor pool to cool down. Need further refreshment? There’s a poolside bar, too, so a thirst-quenching drink is never more than a hop, skip, and a jump away. What’s more, the nearby beach is a spectacular spot with sun loungers aplenty and a handful of nearby bars if you ever start craving the taste of a classic cocktail.

🇲🇪☀️ Day 5 onboard Explora Journeys — Kotor, you’ve been a beauty!

Well Kotor, what can I say… we’ve had the sunshine, and honestly, we couldn’t have docked any closer if we’d tried! 😍

One of the lovely advantages of smaller ships is that they can sometimes access ports and docking locations that larger ships can’t, meaning you can be right in the heart of a destination and step straight ashore to explore. And that’s exactly what we did today!

We had a wander around Kotor’s beautiful old town and city walls, enjoyed a little shopping and, of course, stopped for a drink in the sunshine. 🍹🇲🇪

Back onboard for what was supposed to be a light lunch… which somehow turned into a FIVE-COURSE affair! 😂🙈 Everything looked so delicious, it would have been rude not to!

So now, with very full bellies, it’s time to relax around the pool with a cocktail and enjoy the sunshine. Tough life, eh?! ☀️🥂

We really have been so lucky with the weather this trip.

Tomorrow is a sea day, giving us time to enjoy more of the ship before our final port of call, the beautiful Greek island of Milos. 🇬🇷💙

🇮🇹✨ Day 4 onboard Explora Journeys — Puglia, you were beautiful!

Today we docked in Brindisi and headed off on an Explora excursion to discover a little of this gorgeous part of Italy.

First stop was Alberobello, and wow… what a place! 😍 The town is famous for its trulli — those unique whitewashed stone houses with their conical roofs. Wandering through the little streets and seeing them all together felt like stepping into another world. It's easy to see why this place is so special!

Then we headed to the stunning Puglian coast and Polignano a Mare. Perched above the Adriatic Sea, with its dramatic cliffs, beautiful blue water and lovely old town, it was such a gorgeous place to explore. 🇮🇹💙

Two very different sides of Puglia in one day — traditional Italian villages and that beautiful coastline. Definitely a destination worth adding to the list!

Back onboard this evening, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset before dinner at Sakura 🍣🥂 — the perfect way to round off another lovely day.

I'm loving how each stop on this trip has something completely different to offer, with the ship waiting to welcome us back at the end of the day. 🚢❤️

🇭🇷✨ Day 3 onboard Explora Journeys — Dubrovnik, you are gorgeous!

What a beautiful place Dubrovnik is! 😍

Explora docked at midday and stays until 10pm tonight, which is lovely for anyone wanting to explore the old town during the day and soak up the evening atmosphere too.

We decided to do a tuk-tuk tour around Dubrovnik, which was such good fun and a great way to see more of this stunning place. 🚙📸

Then it was back onboard for a cocktail or two… well, it would be rude not to! 🍸😂

Tonight's plans are a bit of music trivia followed by karaoke — let's see how that goes! 🎤🎶

This is what I'm loving about this trip so far: beautiful destinations to explore, then back to the ship to relax, enjoy a drink and make the most of everything happening onboard.

Tomorrow we're heading to Brindisi, Italy 🇮🇹 — another new place to discover!
