Last night, England’s football team reminded me of running a serviced accommodation business in London.
It’s a game of high hopes, unexpected setbacks, and trying to keep a clean sheet!
1. Expectations vs. Reality: Just like England’s dreams of Euro’s glory, every new booking feels like we’re lifting a trophy – until the guest arrives and the toilet starts leaking.
2. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: The team has Harry Kane; we have Harry the handyman. Both essential to our success and both occasionally missing in action.
3. Defensive Strategy: Much like our defense on the pitch, I’m constantly defending my property from rogue party-goers and mysterious stains.
4. Injury Time: When something breaks at 3 AM, it feels like going into extra time. No one’s thrilled, but you’ve got to stay on your toes until the final whistle.
5. Fan Feedback: Negative reviews on Booking.com are like pundits on TV – everyone has an opinion on where you went wrong, and they’re not afraid to share it.
Here’s to hoping for a better result next time, both for England and the guest who booked for “just one quiet night.” 🏠⚽️
