The sun is out, the sky is blue, there's not a cloud to spoil the view, but it's raining.... well sort of..., in our new cold water outdoor shower, which we've built into the old wishing well, located on our lodge sun terrace for the enjoyment of our guests.

We are extremely sad to announce that Martin Roberts, the amazing owner/proprietor of The Peacock Country Inn sadly lost his battle with cancer at the end of September.

Many of our guests will have enjoyed the hospitality of The Peacock during their stays with us and a great number of you (especially our repeat guests) have spent time chatting with Martin.

Martin's wife Sue takes over the day to running ofThe Peacock supported by the fantastic team that Martin built up over the years.

For those that wish to donate to Martin's memory, there is a fund raising page supporting the hospice Sobell House that provided the exceptional end of life care to Martin along with support to his family.

We have had some truly lovely and amazing guests stay with us over the years. But every so often (and thankfully very rarely) a group checks-in that believe our rules, terms and conditions (and more importantly the law) don't apply to them.

Well a warning to anyone who thinks that it's OK to smoke or take drugs in our vacation rentals, this is the end result. Eviction from the property by the police, your stay cut short, no refund for unspent nights and full forfeiture of your security deposit.

We love hosting guests and will always greet you with a warm smile and a friendly welcome. But if you disrespect us or our property, then be prepared to suffer the consequences.

For anyone looking for cancellation dates for the 1 bedroom lodges, both Kingfisher and Sparrowhawk Lodges are available for a 3 night weekend break from Friday 30th July to Monday 2nd August 2021.

We won't have any problems filling these dates, but we always like to offer them out to our Facebook followers (and repeat guests) first. Therefore should you wish to book for the above, then please message or call us directly.

Total Price for a 3 night stay is normally £660. If you are a first time guest with us, then the booking direct price is £620.40. If you are a repeat guest, then please contact us for your price.

We will re-advertise these dates via our Online Travel Agency partners and to the general public from 10am on Friday 2nd July.

We have just received a cancellation for Kingfisher (1 Bedroom) Lodge. Sunday 27th June to Wednesday 30th June 2021 is now available for a 3 night stay.

We have just re-advertised these dates via our online travel agent partners, so if you were holding out for a last minute cancellation, then get in quick. This is currently the only available date in our 1 bedroom lodges until early September.

The Pool House is normally a minimum 3 night stay. However, due to the way certain bookings fall within our reservation calendar we have a number of 2 night stays available. These are not shown on our website or our online booking system and this offer for a 2 night stay is only available to previous guests who have stayed with us before in any of our properties.

The available dates are:

Monday 17th to Wednesday 19th May
Saturday 3rd to Monday 5th July
Thursday 8th to Saturday 10th July
Friday 6th to Sunday 8th August

If you are a previous guest and are interested in booking, then please send an email to [email protected] with your preferred dates and number of people in your group, we'll then come back to you with the price including a special repeat guest discount.

Please note that this is not a first come first serve offer. Names will go into a hat and be drawn at random.

May date will be drawn on Monday 10th May at midday.
July and August dates will be drawn on Friday 21st May at midday.

Following the latest government announcement, we will re-open the lodges to guests on Monday 12th April 2021.

Between Monday 12th April and Sunday 16th May, all guests must be from the same household and we will require proof of address information for all guests, particular for Red Kite (our 3 bedroom lodge).

From Monday 17th May, the "Rule of 6" comes back in to effect, with 6 people from a maximum of 2 separate households able to mix indoors.

By Monday 21st June, it is hoped that all remaining restrictions will be lifted.
