Chippy Cottage Cotswolds Chippy Cottage, which dates back to the 1600's, is a luxurious cottage for your self-catering holida

Chippy Cottage dates back to 1600’s, built with traditional honey coloured Cotswold Stone. Aside from the beautifully thick Cotswold stone walls, it contains a number of original features including an Inglenook fireplace with seat and bread oven, ceiling beams, iron butchers hooks and the original plasterer’s initials “JE 1799” encased in a protected frame. We are lead to believe, before being con

verted into housing, the cottage was formally a butchers shop. Sadly we are still to find any pictures, but continue to look! The cottage offers three bedrooms (2 kings and 1 twin), a bathroom, lounge, kitchen diner, utility room and courtyard garden. You can now rent Chippy Cottage for your next stay in the Cotswolds.

This time last year we had a lot of dust and heavy equipment carefully cleaning all the internal wood and beams. Removing over 400 years of dirt and nasty, unsympathetic varnish. What a difference a year makes at Chippy Cottage.

It’s been a busy couple of months for chippy cottage with new lime mortar outside, a few tweaks inside, a few 🪴 out the front, and a completely relandscaped courtyard for our guests out the back.
Here’s a quick sneak peek of that relaxing space, (which is a fabulous sun trap at the moment.) Just in time for this glorious heat wave. 🌞

What lovely light we’ve had in the Cotswolds recently. (But, brrrrrrrr, it’s definitely been cold)

This time of year the honey coloured stone of the villages seems to pop more against those lovely blue skies. (And thankfully it looks to be a nice sunny weekend.)
