Kingham Cottages is a collection of five self-catering holiday cottages located within the beautiful grounds of Kingham Lodge in the heart of the Cotswolds. The owners of Kingham Lodge, Christopher and Delphie Stockwell, have lived in the Cotswold village of Kingham (voted England’s favourite village), for over 30 years and it is their aim to provide a traditional Cotswold cottage holiday with a u

nique touch. Chris and Delphie also host a biannual sculpture show as part of Oxfordshire Artweeks and have raised more than £200,000 for charity since 2012. Some of the photos and video on this page are from previous sculpture exhibitions.

Our indoor heated pool (11m x 5m, average depth 1.35m) is perfect for both family fun and peaceful relaxation.

To make sure everyone enjoys their time, we offer private daily swim times for each cottage - details are shared in your booking confirmation. There’s also an early morning swim open to all guests.

Kite’s Gate Cottage | Sleeps 6 🏡

Light, airy and beautifully crafted, Kite’s Gate Cottage is a calm and comfortable place to truly settle in. Built in 2011, it blends traditional craftsmanship with modern comforts, creating a relaxed home-from-home feel.

Perfect as a stand-alone family cottage, or ideal when booked alongside neighbouring Ryeworth for larger groups, Kite’s Gate shares a lawn and offers easy access to our gardens and indoor pool.

✨ Inside you’ll find:

A master bedroom with king-size four poster bed, TV & en-suite wet room

A twin bedroom with family bathroom

A charming oak-beamed twin bedroom on the top floor with far-reaching countryside views towards Daylesford
(Both twins can be zip-and-linked to super-kings on request)

Downstairs is open-plan and welcoming, with honey-coloured oak floors, comfy seating around the TV, and an antique dining table for relaxed family meals. The fully fitted kitchen has everything you need for easy self-catering, plus a washing machine and downstairs WC.

Step out onto the terrace with table, chairs and Weber BBQ, leading to shared parking, our 5-acre gardens and the indoor pool house.

A Garden That Keeps on Giving 🌿☀️

There's no denying it – this summer's heatwave has left its mark. The lawns have turned golden, the ground is dry beneath our feet, and like gardens across the country, ours is feeling the effects of weeks without meaningful rain.

And yet...

There is still so much beauty to be found.

The borders continue to burst with colour, the trees provide welcome pockets of cool shade, and as the evening sun casts its golden light across the gardens, it's easy to see why this remains one of our favourite times of year.

Gardens are constantly changing with the seasons, and each one has its own unique character. This summer, the warm, sun-kissed tones tell the story of a long spell of glorious weather, while the flowers, shrubs and mature planting continue to put on a spectacular display.

Whether you're enjoying an early morning coffee, a leisurely afternoon in the shade, or a glass of wine as the sun sets, the gardens are still a wonderful place to slow down and savour the beauty of the Cotswolds.

Here's hoping Mother Nature treats us to a little rain soon… but until then, we'll continue to appreciate this very special summer. 🌾💛

Berry Pen Cottage – a welcoming, accessible stay in the Cotswolds 🌿♿

We’re really proud that Berry Pen Cottage, here at Kingham Cottages, works so well for guests with disabilities – without compromising on beauty, comfort or character.

Lovingly re-created in 2016 from historic stabling and groom’s quarters, Berry Pen is light, spacious and thoughtfully designed. It sleeps 5–6 guests across three en-suite bedrooms, including a ground-floor bedroom with a wheelchair-accessible wet room and walk-in shower. Additional shower aids can be provided on request, and the layout works well for guests who prefer to avoid stairs.

🎪 A Wonderful Day Out for the Whole Family! 🎪

If you're staying with us this weekend, don't miss the Kingham Village Fête on Sunday 12th July, from 11am–4pm on the village green.

It's everything a traditional English village fête should be – with games, face painting, craft stalls, delicious homemade cakes, a dog show, children's activities, ice cream and plenty more to enjoy.

Whether you're trying your luck at the coconut shy, cheering on the dog show, or simply enjoying tea and cake in the sunshine, it's a lovely way to experience village life in the Cotswolds.

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Alexandra Campbell @the_middlesized_garden to Kingham recently.

Alexandra spent time exploring the gardens with Christopher, chatting about the inspiration behind them, how they have evolved over the years, and some of the ideas that have shaped this very special place - Alexandra is passionate about sharing practical gardening advice and beautiful gardens with her large online community.

The visit has been filmed as part of an upcoming episode for The Middlesized Garden YouTube channel, and we can't wait to share it with you.
