Rounceval House Hotel

Rounceval House Hotel A bed and breakfast hotel in the beautiful medieval market town of Chipping Sodbury We can of course promise a much more pleasurable stay.

Rounceval House is a stylish Grade II listed building first built around 1670 and redeveloped by the Georgians in about 1750 to form the house it is today. It is rumoured that at one stage prisoners were accommodated in our cellar overnight! Rounceval House Hotel opened in 2003 following an extensive refurbishment which turned this magnificent building into a very comfortable country house hotel. The House has a welcoming relaxed atmosphere - a real home from home.

“Good small hotel in a good location” Trip Advisor
5 of 5 starsReviewed 1 week ago
I stayed here recently with friends, for 2 nights. It's a small hotel in a good location in Chipping Sodbury, with a reasonable amount of private parking. The rooms are a good size, clean and recently renovated (it's quite an old building). Breakfast is very good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

“A real treat!”
5 of 5 starsReviewed yesterday NEW
This was a real find - we enjoyed this hotel! We had a lovely room, at the top of the hotel, but with our suitcases taken up for us in advance. It was spacious, tasteful and comfortable, with everything we needed and a good bathroom. We were able to relax and we slept very well.
Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, with top quality ingredients - and the cooked breakfast was very well prepared. Delicious croissants (unusual!) and great cereals, fruit, etc. The staff were very professional but also very friendly. Everything relaxed and understated but just what we wanted and needed. We particularly liked the ethical and environmental approach - it was good to see its high profile. We will be back!

Latest Trip Advisor review - “Beautiful hotel”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 3 days ago NEW
Stayed for one night on 13 September 2014 - this is an absolutely lovely hotel, with character features and spotlessly clean. The staff give personal attention and were very friendly. Good parking facilities, close to the high street for restaurants/bars/ cafes/shops. Not noisy at night as at the end of the street. The room we had (Room 1) was enormous, bright and cosy too - with the addition of fresh flowers and different tea/coffees. The bed was extremely comfortable and bathroom lovely, with nice toiletries. Woke up to the smell of croissants baking.... nice! Breakfast was delicious - "full English" not greasy and rushed, but felt individually prepared with care, lots of other foods available, and a cafetiere of fresh coffee. This excellent hotel is a highly recommended treasure, and we are already planning a return visit. I have no criticism at all, unless breakfast could be served until 10.30 instead of 9.30 so I could have had another hour in that comfy bed!!
