A home away from home
We stayed at Rorrington Hall in July 2026 while visiting from the United States, and it exceeded our expectations in every way.
1) The Property:
The house and grounds are absolutely idyllic. We kept commenting on how wonderful everything smelled, how impeccably clean everything was, how interesting and tasteful the décor was, and how beautiful the gardens were. It was incredibly peaceful and quiet—the perfect place to unwind.
2) The Rooms:
Our room was spacious, and the bathroom modern and stocked with nice toiletries. The room also came with coffee, tea, and biscuits and even a mini fridge with milk, bottled water, and — as a particularly delightful surprise — even two small bottles of a delicious Sauvignon Blanc, which we enjoyed in the garden one evening.
3) Comfort:
Before arriving, I was a little concerned about the lack of air conditioning since we were visiting in July, but it was never an issue. The house stayed surprisingly cool, and fans were thoughtfully provided in the rooms.
4) Hosts & Breakfast:
We had phenomenal hosts—warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly while never being intrusive. Breakfast each morning was outstanding. We still talk about how incredible the Full English breakfast was, and the freshly baked pastries were absolutely delicious.
5) Amenities & Location:
The guest guidebook was very helpful. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable and the room included both standard UK outlets and USB charging ports. We also had excellent dinners at the Herbert Arms and the Dragon Hotel, both of which were a quick 10-15m drive away.
6) The Surroundings:
One of our favorite parts of staying here was simply enjoying the countryside. We loved seeing the sheep, cows, and pheasants—it made the experience feel quintessentially English. And it was just so quiet and still and peaceful.
We wholeheartedly recommend Rorrington Hall to anyone looking for a peaceful countryside getaway. Thank you both, for such a wonderful stay—we'll remember it for a long time.
