We’d just like to let everybody know that we are absolutely sick of this rain.

End of post.

THANK YOU EVERYONE

It’s starting to get colder, the nights are starting to draw in, the winds are picking up, even that elusive rain seems to be making an unwelcome appearance. So we understand that for many of you camping season is now over.

(We know there’s some hard core dedicated campers who are exceptions to this rule(or posh folk who have fancy tents with wood burning stoves in them) who will continue to come, but I’m talking to the “normal folks” lol)

We just want to say THANK YOU, to all of you who visit us (especially those who come often throughout the season).

The site is basically our home and it’s an absolute pleasure to share it with campers & anglers like yourselves who seem to love it just as much as we do.

So honestly, thank you to every one of you for your support during the last season. Have a great Halloween, bonfire night, Christmas, new year, pancake day & Valentine’s Day and we’ll see you all again in 2026.

(Hardcore campers/posh campers with wood burners in their tents, I’ll see you as and when lol)

Thank you everyone. Love you all x x x

NO CAMPFIRES THIS WEEKEND (and until further notice)

(BBQ’s still allowed as long as they are raised off the ground)

We appreciate this news won’t be welcomed (because we know how much you all love your campfires when camping), so it’s not a decision we take lightly, and we’ve been trying our best to not have to ban them. But unfortunately there has been a couple of close calls this week, and we would be foolish to ignore these warnings. We haven’t had any proper rain in several months, the grass and forest floor is tinder dry and it’s just becoming too dangerous.

So we are sorry, but we hope you understand.

Look forward to seeing you all this weekend (which is supposed to be another scorcher)

Merry Christmas from the team. Hope you’re all having a lovely day

Merry Christmas from the team. Hope you’re all having a lovely day

We’ve shut down bookings on the pitch up website from November to February. This is mainly because the ground conditions are getting worse by the day, there will come a point when we have to shut down toilets due to freezing pipes, some of the normal walkways become flooded in places, and trying to convey this ever changing information is difficult, and if you’ve not been here before it may not be the best experience (compared to normal). So we’ve shut down pitch up to try and discourage “newbies” from booking with us.

If however you do want to stay here between November and February (whether you’re someone who’s been here before, or a “newbie” who understands that we have certain challenges during the winter months) you are still more than welcome to camp. Either contact us directly or book via holiday fox (link available via our website).

Please remember the campsite is closed this weekend for a private party (Chris’ 40th lol).

To those campers who did wish to join the celebrations with me on Saturday, remember it’s £15 a tent. I don’t wanna hear if the showers are cold or the toilets are dirty lol and whilst I had previously said “there’s no noise curfew” that doesn’t mean you can play music at full volume all night lol (we have neighbours to consider, and some people may actually wish to get some shut eye, but obviously I’m going to be considerably more lenient)

I have a 5x10m marquee in case it rains. And I’ll be cooking some chicken curry and pulled pork (with rice, jacket potatoes or rolls)

Look forward to seeing some of you this weekend 👍🏻

We’re sorry to say that we’re not accepting anymore bookings for this weekend (16th -18th August) or bank holiday weekend (23rd - 26th August).

For those of you who have been here before, you may be thinking “no way are they completely full”, and for those of you who haven’t been here before, you’ll get here and think “there’s loads of space left”.

The campsite is technically run by 2 of us (friends and family do help out which is much appreciated, but we shouldn’t rely on their generosity)

So once we hit a certain number, we shut down bookings to try and ensure everyone has the same experience as anyone else, all the time. (Clean toilets, reasonable waits for showers, ability to do onsite activities, not been crammed on top of one another etc)

We would love to have more people on site (because we love sharing it with you all, and truly are grateful that so many of you love coming here time and time again and we want to share it with as many people as possible) but it’s not fair on them or you to simply cram as many people in as possible and potentially spoil your visit.

So for those of you who are booked in already, we look forward to seeing you over the next few weeks 👍🏻 apologies to those who would have liked to come but can’t, we hope you appreciate why we take this stance (your happiness is more important than money)

It’s ridiculously hot today. So please feel free to go cool off in the swimming lake, free of charge (we will no longer be charging onsite guests to swim)

It has been so lovely to have so many guests onsite this weekend and we’re so glad the weather has been so good for you all. We hope everyone has enjoyed themselves as much as we have having you here.

We honestly don’t understand why so few people book the wigwam. If you’re happy to spend £25 on a ‘medium camping pitch’, why wouldn’t you pay an extra £5 to have the “tent” already erected for you? Arguably more room than you’d have in your tent, and you don’t have to de-erect it, stuff it in the car, re-erect it the other end (presuming you have the room to dry it) only to de-erect it again and struggle to get it back into the bag once it’s dry. To us it’s a “no brainer”, but let us know in the comments below what we’re not understanding 👍🏻

Right. No excuses now all our lovely regulars. I’ve managed to mow the grass, there’s cars and campervan on the meadow, you can walk around in just trainers, and there is even gentlemen with no tops on sunbathing.

It’s safe for you all to return now, Summer is finally here.
