Our apologies, we have been so busy with work, hay harvest and the holiday cottages, that we have not posted for a while. Rest assured, we continue to meet and greet guests to Alf's Bullpen and Betty's Dairy and ensure they get the best from their time with us.

Here is what some guests had to say about their recent stay.

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! What a fabulous stay we had, we arrived to celebrate our 13 year wedding anniversary. Lovely warm welcome from Chris, he has ample amounts of knowledge of the area, took us out of his way to feed the lambs, alongside a tour of his land seing all the sheep, he shown us a around his farm and met the horses. Absolutely fantastic experience, The cottage was warm and welcoming with a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk, biscuits, crisp and cereal, these owners really go the extra mile to make your stay so comfortable. The cottage was immaculately clean. Extra comfy bed, extra blankets if needed. Plenty of storage and a adjacent wash room with iron board. Kirsty even gave me a new cup that I loved to use whilst I was there to save a trip to the shops. Honestly if you book this you won't be disappointed. The area is beautiful with lots to see and the owners are absolutely wonderfull. Can't rate this high enough! I'd give more than a 10 if I could. Thank you kirsty and Chris for such a beautiful stay and we can't wait to come back in October xx

Don't just take their word for it, come and see and experience our unique cottages for yourselves. Visit www.inglesfarm.co.uk for more information.

For several days now we have heard the cuckoo. He seems very close by. I have tried to capture it in this video but you have to listen very carefully as there is so much birdsong that they almost drown the cuckoo out. If you choose to book and stay with us, you will be able to hear the beautiful sound of the cuckoo sat in the patio of either Betty's or Alf's. www.inglesfarm.co.uk for more information.

Need a little help finding your way around? Chris has found just the thing for you. The Ordnance surveys 'Short walks made easy' little book. https://store-qc7qegnorm.mybigcommerce.com/shropshire-hills-short-walks-guidebook-os-short-walks-made-easy/

For Shropshire it notes the following:

Covering 310 square miles, the Shropshire Hills span nearly half the county. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1958, it remains unspoilt. Positioned between the West Midlands and the Welsh borderlands, it feels wonderfully varied.

Much Wenlock, Church Stretton and Ludlow make ideal walking bases. These attractive towns offer history, character and easy hill access. Each provides a welcoming place to begin relaxed countryside adventures.

The Wrekin stands proudly north of the main hills near Telford. Paths climb through the gates of Heaven and Hell to the summit. Rewarding all-round views stretch across Shropshire and beyond.

These hills balance adventure with calm, offering uplifting, welcoming walks. Short routes suit varied abilities while still feeling rewarding. These paths invite you to fall in love with the Shropshire Hills.

Such a gorgeous time of year and an abundant display of how wonderful nature is. The photos of these flowers are taken within a 20 minute or so walk of our cottages. The cowslips and the bluebells are stunning this year. The goldfinches and bullfinches love the dandelion seeds and who hasn't blown 'the dandelion clock'? Plenty to see and do on our doorstep, finishing off by returning to Alf's Bullpen and Betty's Dairy for a quiet sit on the patio as you watch the red kites soaring overhead.

Our cottages provide a great base from which to walk the hills or take part in sporting events in the area.

This weekend, our guests have been very active and taken advantage of the gorgeous weather. Our guests who were staying in Alf's were on their annual walking holiday, using Alf's as a central meeting point for a catch up and walking some of the hills in the local area. They may even have rested in a café or two along the way!

One of our guests in Betty's was slightly faster paced while his parents provided his support crew. He completed AND WON 'The Apocalypse Ultra' https://www.beyondmarathon.com/apocalypse-ultra - a 50 mile challenge with a unique and devious format.

Whichever way you like to experience life, slow lane or fast lane, there is plenty on offer in the area and our beautiful holiday cottages are just the place to base yourselves. Head on over to www.inglesfarm.co.uk to see for yourselves.

Conquest, War, Famine and Death are your foes in this event. Choose your distance from 11 to 50 miles and take on 4 unique loops. 10,000ft of ascent. Brutal and Beautiful!
