I think this post is my last personal one which I'll post on here. Mainly because more people know me through Hillside, and I don't post on my personal one, that's only there for using a buiness page and a market place.
So... since turning the big 40 and back packing in bali in March. I came back with a different view set to my life. I began having holiday blues and an urge to sell everything and live abroad. The cost of living here, and the weather hit me! I then caught a horrible chest infection which lasted 2 weeks. So I'm basically 5 weeks late opening this year. Appologies we missed our usual easter and may bank holiday weekend.
Also the council wants me to maintain only group bookings for the cottage. Which means the lodge and cabin are extra bedrooms attached to my cottage. So that's fine. My place will be back on a platform for the whole place to be rented out as one airbnb.
Obviously they can't stop friends and family staying so my previous guests are now my friends lol 😆. You guys get to pick bedroom lodge, bedroom cabin. If you catch my drift! You all know who you are, and you all know how the council are very hard and strict.
So on the platform maybe airbnb, my place will be rented out for 8 people max. But on the postive side you get sole use of everything on site, which is great for friends and family and those special occasions or get togethers so your not all under one roof. The use of 3 hot tubs and 5 baths. 😉
Obviously more money now. But to friends and family on my Facebook, you get the usual set up. Dm Privatly!
My place will be up for sale next month, we are going with town and country now. So they will be out to give me a valuation and take their photos.
Someone might keep the place as it is, or maybe use the relapse planning for a house extension. The view and location is what makes it unique. I personally would hope a buyer would keep the set up. Alot of blood, sweat and tears went into the build of it.
So myself, my partner and good old Kev are working all hours rennovating up here. I've finished my cottage and on the last bits of the lodge. The cabin will wait for a few weeks now. As I'll be away for a week packing up my house belongings and relocating nearer to the seaside. Nothing really is keeping us here in Shropshire or the UK to be honest.
I move out of shropshire next week, signing contracts on an absolutly beautiful place in Wales. I can't tell you how I felt when I went to view it. I know Wales isn't bali, but I wanted to stay in the uk until Jacob finishes primary school,until my house is sold and money is there to invest in a place abroad.
I am literally fed up of the lifestyle, rule and strickness in the uk especially as me and rules never get on well anyway.. If this country in 5 years is the same or worse, then we are definitely packing up and leaving!
But for now, lifes adventure is taking us to Wales. Farmhouse, some land and a cracking view to wake up to everyday and rivers and waterfalls nearby. The seaside within an hour. Jacobs loved his visit at his new little school which let me just say, has 12 kids in his class, a little walk into school and certainly quieter roads then Shrewsbury traffic! 😀
I'll be travelling back twice a week to church stretton to clean and do my turnovers. Mondays and Fridays for turnover days. Phil & Kev will be around as usual to take luggage up to cabins and on Sundays for check outs.
This will operate until my cottage and cabins sells, it might sell quickly or it might not. Its certainly a quirky little place so finding the right owner might take a while. Who knows!
I just don't want to stay in Shropshire waiting for it to be sold.
Welsh classes and village life, growing my own vegetables and a much bigger beautiful gerogian farmhouse is waiting for us to make into a home!
So from next weekend, the lodge and cottage will be available. To be honest the weather isn't amazing yet anyway, so I'm not fussed that we are late opening.
We tend to be busy all the way through autumn and winter anyway.
