A little courtyard upgrade 🌿✨

We’ve added a new screen along one side of the courtyard, and it’s made such a difference to the feel of the space.

It now feels more enclosed, cosy and inviting, creating an ideal spot to relax, enjoy the afternoon sunshine or settle into the hot tub beneath the stars. 🫧✨

A simple change, but a lovely improvement.

Making a start . . .

The plants have been struggling at 24 at St Johns with the extreme temperatures.

This is all that is left after our refresh this weekend.

While James worked in the house I came out into the garden.

Every new project has to start somewhere and this is our base.

Our goal is to inject pockets of colour and texture to take away from the lawm being the focal point while its not looking its best.

Welcome to Sunday Sanctuary and today we’ll spend some time in the open-plan living space at Casita Lodge. Skylights bring in natural light through the day, and as evening falls, dimmable lights let you create a softer atmosphere.

Cook something delicious in the fully equipped kitchen, and share a relaxed meal around the table. Open the french doors and let the breeze drift in from the courtyard garden. Then settle onto the sofa with a cool drink and a good film.

A huge thank you to my family for rallying around this week after an unexpected event at Casita Lodge. ❤️

In just 4 days we went from placing orders to completing the makeover, including a new BBQ and upgraded artificial grass.

J and I were still adding the final details this morning, just hours before our guests arrived.

What a week, but we're so pleased with the result. Thank you, everyone! ✨

At 24 at St. John’s the fully equipped kitchen is a dream with modern appliancies, plenty of space, natural light and all the tools you need to cook up something special.

Guests love gathering at the breakfast bar, whether it’s to chat over coffee, or a chance to catch up with work.

And those Autumn splashbacks add beautiful colour.

Did you know that Bathurst Pool has been keeping the local community cool since 1920? Gifted to the people of Lydney and Aylburton over a centurey ago, this 38-metre open-air lido is run entirely by a team of volunteers who saved it from closure in 2000.

Fast forward to today, and it is looking better than ever with its bright picnic tables, brilliant sun deck and wonderful chilled-out vibe.

Whether you’re hitting the lanes or bringing the family for an afternoon splash, it’s an absolute treasure

Public swims run from noon - 5pm during the summer season (weather permitting).
