If you’ve been trying to coordinate a proper catch-up with your favourite people for a while, this is your sign to finally put it in the calendar.

September is that brilliant, quiet window just after the schools go back. The air gets a crisp edge, the sunsets turn golden, and the lake remains perfectly warm for a morning paddle straight from your private jetty.

When you cross our little footbridge, you’re entering your own private island, tucked away inside 450 acres of beautiful Cotswold nature.

There are no tiny, cramped bedrooms, no tripping over suitcases, and absolutely no awkward arguments over who gets which room.

It is a bright, welcoming space for your absolute favourite people to kick off your shoes, slow right down, and properly catch up.

You’ll also have heated pools, tennis courts, and estate dining just a short stroll away. So, be the one who finally gets the trip out of the WhatsApp group and make it happen.

I know I’m “meant” to show my face on here more often, but honestly, it’s never really felt like it should be about me. It’s about Lamplight Island, the views, the calm, the chance to switch off, breathe, wander through the woodlands, enjoy the fresh air, spend proper time together, and soak up the good times.

There’s plenty of space, something for everyone in the family, and the best part is how quickly screen time is forgotten.

One day I just might step in front of the camera, but for now I’m happiest behind the scenes, making sure every stay feels as special as the first.

We’re a small family‑run business, and I pour a lot into keeping it welcoming, homely and memorable.
