⚜️ Crossing Boundaries & Building Bridges: A Fantastic Trip to Ormskirk!

What a truly memorable evening for the Lancashire Scouting Lodge of Allegiance! While our roots are firmly planted in East Lancashire, we are incredibly proud of our dual-province heritage. We recruit Scouting Masons from both East and West Lancashire, and once a year, we make it our mission to "cross the border" and visit a different Masonic Hall in the West.

This year, our travels took us to the wonderful Ormskirk Masonic Hall, and what a warm welcome we received!
Highlights of the Evening:
• A Collaborative Lecture: Our meeting featured a fascinating exploration of the First Degree Tracing Board. In the spirit of Scouting teamwork, the lecture was delivered in sections by various members of the Lodge, showcasing the diverse talent and knowledge within our ranks.
• The Festive Board: After the work was done, we were treated to an absolutely superb meal. The kitchen team really outdid themselves!
• Starter: A delicious, hearty black pudding stack.
• Main: A rich and perfectly cooked beef bourguignon.

Heartfelt Thanks
A huge thank you to West Lancashire for hosting us and allowing us to continue this wonderful tradition of provincial friendship.

A special "Bravo" to the Ormskirk Hall team—your hospitality was top-notch, and you looked after us brilliantly from start to finish. We left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts.

Are you a Mason with a background in Scouting? Whether you hail from the East or the West, there’s always a place for you at our campfire.

Blast from the past! 🕺✨

What a night we had last night at Whalley Golf Club for the Lancashire Scouting Lodge of Allegiance Retro Night!

The effort was incredible—fancy dress might have been optional, but nearly everyone showed up in their finest vintage threads. From neon to flares, the room was a sea of retro style!

No retro night is complete without a proper feast, and we certainly didn't go hungry:
• 🥐 Classic vol-au-vents
• 🍲 Hearty hotpot and pickles
• 🍰 Topped off with the ultimate school dinner throwback: chocolate sponge with pink custard!

A huge thank you to the fabulous Poppy Holiday, who kept us all on our feet and entertained with such a brilliant, interactive set.

Most importantly, charity remains at the heart of everything we do. We are thrilled to announce that we raised over £200 for worthy causes. Thank you to everyone for your generosity and for making it such a memorable night! ⚜️

⭐ ELMC Grant ⭐

In December 2025, Ian Macneill presented a cheque for £536 to Darren Williams, District Leader, and Bianca Stones, Leader from 7th Kings Scout Group, Farnworth & Bolton. The donation helped fund neckers, woggles, district badges and embroidery for the investiture held in January 2026.

The Scouts Association in the Bolton and Farnworth area supports young people aged 5 to 18, helping them develop skills for life while planning and delivering a better future.

Over 40 people attended the presentation, where Ian spoke about the ELMC and the donation made to the group. He also highlighted the many other contributions ELMC has made to Scout groups across Bolton and Farnworth over the years.

Everyone present expressed their thanks and were truly impressed by the continued support and generosity shown by ELMC. 💙⚜️

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The Great Chieftain Departs!

What an incredible night at the Lancashire Scouting Lodge of Allegiance Burns Supper!

The pipes are wailing, the spirits are high, and the star of the show has made its grand exit. After being properly addressed and toasted with a wee dram, our Haggis is being piped back to the kitchen to be plated up for the hungry masses!

🍽️ On the Menu last Wednesday:
• The Haggis: Spiced to perfection.
• Neeps & Tatties: The only acceptable companions.

There’s nothing quite like the sound of the bagpipes echoing through the hall to remind us of the deep bonds of fellowship (and the fact that it's finally time to eat!). A huge thank you to our piper, Tom, for leading the procession with such pride.

"Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face, Great chieftain o' the puddin-race!"

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 A Night of Piping, Haggis, and Celebration! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Last Wednesday, the Lancashire Scouting Lodge of Allegiance gathered in Whalley for our regular meeting. We kept the formal business brief, as the pipes were calling us to Whalley Golf Club for our Burns-themed supper!

The evening kicked off in spectacular fashion with a piper in full regalia piping us into the club—a stirring start to a fantastic night.

The Highlights
• Tradition in Action: The haggis was piped into the room with due ceremony. Our Secretary delivered a brilliant Address to the Haggis before it was piped back out to be served.
• A Proper Feast: We enjoyed a superb traditional menu of Scotch Broth, Haggis, neeps and tatties, followed by a delicious Cranachan.
• A Golden Milestone: A special highlight was hearing a resume of Malcolm’s 50 years in Freemasonry. An incredible achievement that truly inspired everyone in the room.

Fellowship & Fundraising
It was a pleasure to have non-Masonic guests join us for the meal, proving that the spirit of friendship extends to everyone. Thanks to the generosity of our attendees, we raised over £300 for charity!
