Dave and Ingrid welcome you to Colemere Caravan Park, situated in the small picturesque village of Colemere which consists of a church & a number of 15th Century thatched Tudor cottages which are listed in the Doomsday Book. In the centre of the village is the mere itself which is a site of special scientific interest & contains a wide range of wild life including Otters. It has a purpose built f

ull circular walk which takes you through a beautiful wooded rhododendron cladded walk. On the south side of the lake sits Colemere caravan park in around 5 acres of land which actually adjoins the mere itself. We are a 5CL Site with allocation for 3 visiting Caravans and 10 Tents. As well as this we have 2 Deluxe Hand built Camping Pods on site, fully insulated, double glazed with mains electricity and TV. Constructed of Pine with Handmade Oak Fascia, giving a warm Nordic feel. Sleeping up to 5 and 7 respectively the Otter and Badger Pods contain easy to use Sofa Beds and modern Bean2Bed Bags that open up to a comfy double bed. No matter what time of year you'll feel lovely and warm due to triple insulation and soft glow LED lights in each corner. Around a quarter a mile away is Wood Lane nature reserve which has several excellent fishing pools as well as some very rare wild life even Osprey have been seen during migration although birds such as kingfisher, golden eye& water rail are more common (featured here on the BBC Website). On the north side of the mere are old lime kilns & the Shropshire union canal with its purpose built walk way you will pass many long boats some of which sell various crafts or homemade wine. Eventually you will pass Blakemere, famous for it's carp fishing, from here you could brave the Tunnel Bridge if you wish en route to the market town of Ellesmere with its various cafes , gift shops & taverns which adjoins Ellesmere Lake the largest of the 9 Meres.
