I stumbled upon Bryn Holcombe whilst online, and visiting the area on business and I am so glad i did! I stayed in the main suite, which i highly recommend, but the rest of Bryn Holcombe was beautiful. Lots of nice touches, friendly staff and a monster breakfast! Come here and you will not be disapp…

Donkeys back on Colwyn Bay Beach

After many years donkeys have returned to Colwyn Bay beach. These four donkeys and their friendly carers were greeted with fine weather on their first day on Colwyn Bay Beach.

The donkeys arrived on the Saturday 19th May coinciding with the Colwyn Bay Forties Weekend.

I believe they will be returning to the beach each weekend and during school holidays – and unlike many of the dogs on the beach they are keeping below the high tide line.

I am not sure if they having the “Battle on the Beach” tomorrow, or if it is the ” Battle in Eirias Park”. But lets hope all the explosives don’t frighten this friendly bunch of donkeys.

Searching for Razor Clams on Colwyn Bay beach is not without its difficulties. First you need a spring tide, well, the low tide that comes with a spring tide. You also have to get there before the light fades , as the spring tides (low) are around 18.00 hr in Colwyn Bay which coincides with sunset in the relevant months. And you also have to watch out for the razor clams seeking revenge.
