Gwynfryn B&B Conwy

Gwynfryn B&B Conwy Gwynfryn is a converted Welsh Chapel in the historical walled towns of Conwy North Wales. Offering boutique B&B accommodation within the Chapel House & Vestry.

We serve a daily home cooked menu using local produce in the Chapel Bar & outside patio. Gwynfryn B&B is a large 139 year old Victorian House which has been lovingly renovated into a 'Visit Wales' 4 Star Guest House offering beautifully decorated comfortable accommodation within the walled town of Conwy. Conwy is most famous for the magnificent Conwy Castle built by Edward I between 1283 - 1287. D

esignated a World Heritage Site, Conwy can truly lay claim to being one of the finest remaining medieval walled towns in the world. With a wealth of attractions that span the ages, events galore and a wide range of shops and restaurants. Gwynfryn B&B is ideally situated within the heart of the town, close to all amenities, attractions and both the Conwy Train Station & the local bus route for Conwy. Conwy is the perfect base for visiting all of North Wales including Snowdonia, Anglesey, Caernarfon, Llandudno, Deganwy and Betws-y-Coed but to name a few. In January 2008 Gwynfryn Bed and Breakfast won the prestigous 'Travelers 2008 Choice' award from the independent travelers review site 'Tripadvisor' after achieving 8th Best B&B in Euorpe. This was followed in May by an invite from Her Majesty the Queen to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace for the British Hospitality Industry. We were honoured to attend and represent Conwy and Wales where we met the Queen and other members of the Royal family thereafter mingling with the other 350 guests including Sir Rocco Forte, Gordon Ramsey, Michel & Albert Roux and many more influential personalities from the British Hospitality Industry. In 2011 we were awarded the 'Certificate of Excellance' from Tripadvisor in recognition of our consistently excellant reviews.

Our “Telford” Room is named after Thomas Telford, the renowned engineer behind the iconic Conwy Suspension Bridge. Opened in 1826, the bridge was one of the first road suspension bridges of its kind, designed to sit beautifully alongside Conwy Castle with towers inspired by the castle itself. Nearly 200 years later, it remains one of Conwy’s most recognisable landmarks 🌉✨

Built in 1873, the Gwynfryn B&B began life as a chapel house in the heart of historic Conwy. ⛪️

In 1911, it became home to Chief Inspector Edwards of Conwy, with the old police station still standing just across the road today.

One of the most special features of the property is the original Victorian railings at the front — the only surviving original Victorian railings in Conwy. During wartime, railings across Britain were removed and melted down for scrap metal, but chapel properties were spared, allowing these to remain for over 150 years.

A little piece of Welsh history, still welcoming guests today. ✨

Llywelyn Fawr… From Chapel to Comfort✨

The original pews from Tabernacle Chapel were once part of Conwy’s Methodist congregation in the early 1800s, and now they have been beautifully reimagined into a one-of-a-kind four-poster bed in our chapel loft.

In our Llywelyn Fawr room, history lives on in every detail from the original chapel window that still floods the space with light, to the freestanding bath made for slow, quiet moments.

A stay surrounded by stories, where past and present meet. 🕊️
