The Lord Chamberlain's Men bring Othello to Conwy Castle — Friday 28 & Saturday 29 August at 7pm, Sunday 30 August at 6.30pm. Open-air, all-male Elizabethan company, live music and dance. Bring a chair or blanket and a picnic.

Cadw's Hidden Histories: The Mystery of the Severed Heads runs Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August 2026 at Plas Mawr on Conwy High Street. You're invited back to 1588 as Robert Wynn, Master of the House, prepares for a royal visit from Queen Elizabeth I — determined to impress with pomp, ceremony and a spotless reputation. But the deeper you dig, the more it seems something isn't quite right.

Follow the clues, listen carefully, meet characters from the past, and uncover the truth behind three rather ghoulish severed heads before the Queen arrives. Two sessions each day: 11am–12.45pm and 1.15pm–3pm. No advance booking required — standard Cadw admission applies. Ideal for families and young history explorers aged 6+.

🎨 This Saturday, the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay is throwing open its gates for its Artisan Market — over 50 stalls of Welsh arts, crafts and produce, keeper talks, and hot street food, all set among the animals. 🎶 This Saturday evening, St Mary's Church in the heart of Conwy will be filled with beautiful music as the Conwy Classical Music Festival draws to a close with a joint concert from Côr Meibion Bro Aled and Côr Cantilena, featuring soloist Erin Fflur Williams — fresh from winning the David Ellis Blue Riband prize at this year's National Eisteddfod.

It's a lovely, free-to-attend evening (donations gratefully welcomed to support the festival), and just a short walk from Conwy Castle and the town's historic walls.
