📆 Friday 28th June, 12 - 3PM

Crowning a craggy hilltop high above Llangollen, Castell Dinas Brân – the Crow’s Fortress – is one of the most dramatically-sited and legend-haunted strongholds in the whole of Britain. Set within the corner of an Iron Age hillfort, it is one of the few surviving Welsh-built stone castles, constructed in the 13th century by Gruffudd ap Madoc, ruler of northern Powys.

The Gatehouse tower is the only enclosed and roofed area within the remaining castle ruins. Join the Our Picturesque Landscape team at the summit of Castell Dinas Brân as the historic Gatehouse is opened to the public after recently completed renovation work.

No booking required, the walking route to the summit is steep and uneven. Castell Dinas Brân: Diwrnod Agored / Open Day
