Luxury Holiday cottages and log cabins in the heart of the Welsh country side on the banks of the River Dee. With stunning views in all directions this is a truly unique place to stay. Our collection of luxury self-catering cottages and cabins are ideal for a romantic escape or a large family group getaway. Rivercatcher’s collection contains five stunning cottages sleeping from 2 to 10 guests and

four log cabins sleeping 2 guests each. Our function room (The Lodge) is a place for special events as well as a fully equipped games room for a little indoor entertainment on those rainy days. Each luxury cottage and cabin can be let individually or as a collection, with accommodation for up to 38 guests at any one time. Private hot tubs come as standard at Rivercatcher for you to relax in and soothe the day away and award winning beds ensure you get the deep sleep you need for the next day. Families are catered for with baby essential and toddler packs available for your on arrival. We have a dog wash on site for those spending their days adventuring with their 4 legged friends. The beautiful scenery of Snowdonia and the Berwyn Mountains is perfect for cyclists and we have a secure bike storage and cleaning facilities. We look forward to seeing you soon!

After such a hot Bank Holiday weekend, it’s safe to say our new air-conditioning units have gone down a treat. ❄️

Many of you will already have had the pleasure of meeting Teddy during your stay at Rivercatcher.

Teddy takes his role very seriously. His duties include:
✔️ Welcoming four-legged guests
✔️ Supervising riverside walks
✔️ Ensuring all dogs feel immediately at home
✔️ Accepting fuss on behalf of the entire team
He’s very much looking forward to welcoming more dogs (and their humans!) over the coming weeks and making sure every stay is properly dog-approved.
So if you’re bringing your furry friend to Rivercatcher soon, rest assured — Teddy will be ready for duty.
We can’t promise he won’t try to make new best friends with every guest dog… but we can promise a very warm welcome. 🐶💚

We’ve had some very special visitors at Rivercatcher this season… a tawny owl box that’s become home to a family of chicks 🦉
It’s been a real joy watching them grow up tucked safely away in the woodland around us. Moments like this are a lovely reminder of just how alive and vibrant our surroundings are.
We’re incredibly proud of our setting here in nature, and we care deeply about nurturing it. From maintaining natural habitats to encouraging wildlife-friendly spaces, we do our best to make sure the landscape around Rivercatcher continues to thrive for generations to come.
A little owl fact for you: tawny owl chicks are often heard long before they’re seen, with their distinctive “kee-wick” calls echoing through the night as they communicate with their parents while still hidden in the trees.
It’s a privilege to share our days with wildlife like this right on our doorstep 🌿
