The Sun Inn is a great place to visit. So close to a few cottages in Cottesmore too. Enjoy your time at this pub and walk back home to relax :)

This focuses on The Sun Inn Rutland, using the best locally sourced seasonal produce to produce a good range of home cooked food.

Visitors can dine in the beamed restaurant or in the main bar if you want to soak up the atmosphere. During the warmer months there is lots of outdoor seating available. Along side the delicious main menu, there is a daily specials board and their fantastic roasts are available on Sunday's from 12 till 4 pm.

Easy to find and with plenty of parking, The Sun Inn is between the A1 and Oakham on the B668. The beautiful Rutland water is a stones throw away and there are some fantastic walks in the area. Their Beer Garden is the perfect place to kick back and relax! When it's cold outside you can be assured of a log fire to warm your bones after a walk, and when it's warmer the garden offers a lovely place to sit and eat or drink.

Three years ago we renovated the cottage which included some ripping out the bathroom and placing a new one in. We must admit, it was fun occasionally having to take a hammer and crow bar and discovering new areas! We often thought the bathroom would be too small and a single shower would be enough, luckily after placing a new wooden frame in place...a bath fitted perfectly! A little bit of gratfing makes dreams happen.

The views over Rutland Water this morning were stunning! Hoping for some more sights like this in January 2022.

This shot was taken not too far from where the fossils of a ichthyosaur sea dragon were discovered in Rutland Water recently. It's a regular 🏃‍♂️ we do on the Hambleton Peninsula, who knew I was running alongside a 180 million year old seadragon!
