These two are special. So often people order by the grape - Pinot Grigio / Sauv Blanc or Merlot / Malbec. They may be missing out!

🍷 Chemin de la Serre Carignan Vieilles Vignes 2025

Made from old-vine Carignan, this is everything we love about a good southern French red. Rich, generous, full of character, with lovely dark fruit and a touch of spice. A w**e that punches well above its price.

🥂 Chemin de la Serre Marsanne–Viognier 2025

A gorgeous combination of two wonderful white grapes. Marsanne brings richness and texture, while Viognier adds beautiful floral and stone-fruit character. A white with real personality — and a lovely change from the usual suspects.

And here’s the really good bit…

Both are available *by the glass* at The Old Windmill They’re just £25 a bottle to enjoy here - and if you’d rather take one home? Just £15 a bottle!

Great w**e doesn’t have to be expensive. It just has to be great.

Rioja Reserva: Does Price Really Matter? 🍷

We’re putting four Rioja Reservas head-to-head, tasted completely blind.
The tasting of four Riojas - including our exceptional award-winning star - will be £10.

At one end will be a remarkably inexpensive Aldi Rioja Reserva. At the other, the small-production Miguel Merino Vitola Reserva, a serious Rioja from old vines in Briones. Between them we’ll have El Duque de Miralta Reserva from M&S and the classic Viña Pomal Reserva from Bodegas Bilbaínas in Haro.
Four w**es. Same region. Same Reserva classification. Very different producers — and very different prices.
