What a glorious October day! Blue skies and warm sunshine ☀️
These two magnificent beasts were placed on their plinths in 1894 to mark the exact start and end boundaries of the new sea wall project.
The first one sits right where The Parade turns into Egypt Esplanade, and the second one guards the other end towards Egypt Point.
For over 130 years, these lions have been sitting out there facing the Solent, acting like a pair of old guardians watching all the boats and ships go by.

⚓ Two very different neighbours in Cowes today!
Couldn't resist taking a few photos of these two beauties moored side by side.
On one side, Lady B, a 52-metre luxury superyacht, last advertised for sale at a staggering £17 million!
And next door, the magnificent Galeón Andalucía, a replica 17th-century Spanish galleon, built at a reported cost of around £2.6 million.
One offers every imaginable luxury, while the other takes us back to the days of explorers and trading ships. And surprisingly, the galleon is actually the longer of the two!
Quite a contrast. Over £19 million between them in advertised sale price and original construction cost.
Not something you see every day, even in Cowes! ⛵🌊

We’ll be at the Duke of York for SIX nights of big tunes, bad dancing, questionable requests and even more questionable decisions.

If you’re in Cowes, pop in for a pint… staying until closing is entirely your decision. 🍻 Make sure you get there early to avoid the queues.
