🐿️🧡 It’s Red Squirrel Awareness Week!

Here on the Isle of Wight, we’re incredibly lucky to share our Island with around 3,500 red squirrels.

With the Solent providing a natural barrier from grey squirrels, the Isle of Wight remains an important stronghold for our native reds in southern Britain.🌳

But protecting their future is about more than keeping greys away. Healthy woodland and connected habitats are incredibly important, giving squirrels the space and food they need to thrive.

🐾 Red Squirrel Awareness Week is a chance to celebrate one of the Island’s much-loved wild residents and raise awareness of the importance of protecting them and their habitats for the future.
