A very special afternoon at Cedar Hollow ❤️🌿

Good food, good company and a rather enormous Levantine feast.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to the brilliant team behind the scenes who spent several days cooking, preparing and somehow making sure nobody left remotely hungry. 🫓🥙

There’s something we love about seeing the garden filled with people sharing food, talking, laughing and lingering around the table.

Such a lovely evening at Cedar Hollow, bringing together people we’ve known for years and some wonderful new friends we’ve met along the way.

Good food, good company, and one of those evenings that reminds us just how many lovely people Cedar Hollow has brought into our lives. ✨

When Beaver’s Den is perfect for two… but the rest of the family wants to come too. 😂

So naturally, we bought a vardo.

Our newest arrival at Cedar Hollow will soon be available as an optional add-on to Beaver’s Den, giving families a little extra sleeping space while still enjoying the whole glamping experience together.

Getting it through the gates, however, was an experience in itself… 😅

Tomorrow night, the skies above Oxford are putting on a show. ✨🌌

On 12 August, four celestial events come together:

🌑 A dark, moonless sky
☄️ The Perseid meteor shower
🪐 Planets shining across the night sky
🌒 A partial solar eclipse at sunset

And Cedar Hollow sits beside some of Oxford’s darkest open spaces, with Shotover Country Park just beyond the woods.

It will be a rather magical night to be here. ✨

Look up. You might not see a night quite like this again for a while.

Some journeys change your destination.

Others change your life.

This 1927 Triumph motorcycle and sidecar has become the newest addition to the C. S. Lewis Heritage Trail at Cedar Hollow Oxford.

It commemorates one of the most significant journeys in Lewis’s life: the ride he made with his brother Warnie to Whipsnade Zoo, during which, as he recounts in Surprised by Joy, he realised he had become a Christian. “When we set out,” he wrote, “I did not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; and when we reached the zoo I did.”

For us, this motorcycle represents two journeys: the road to Whipsnade, and the far greater journey of faith that transformed one of the twentieth century’s greatest writers and gave birth to The Chronicles of Narnia.

Every road tells a story. Some lead further up and further in. 🏍️🌿

A quiet little woodland retreat where you can lie beside a living honeybee colony, listening to the gentle hum of thousands of bees.

No phones.
No distractions.
Just the rhythm of the hive, the scent of cedar and beeswax, and 45 minutes to simply slow down.

We love the idea of creating a space dedicated to mindfulness, rest and reconnecting with nature.
