The club belongs to its members. Its club colours are black and red. All of our coaches and committee members are mainly parents who offer their time to become qualified coaches or committee members. If there are things you as a parent think would improve the running of the club please come forward and offer to help – that’s what makes a difference. Over the past 10 years things have been going fr

om strength to strength with current membership of over 150 swimmers, ranging from beginners to those competing in ‘Aquasprint’ and ‘Provincial Towns League (PTL) galas as well as individual performances by members at Swim Ulster/Swim Ireland open gala events throughout the season
PASC believe it is important for ongoing club development that members are clear on the ethos and spirit of the club. Much of the progress the Club has achieved is a credit to the dedicated coaching team, parents who volunteer to run the club behind the scenes and the hard working swimmers. We have Academies for those who can swim at least 20m Frontcrawl and Backstroke and want to continue progressing from Council or other Learn to Swim Programnes into competitive swimming.

Success at Senior Nationals isn't measured by medals alone.

It is built on years of commitment, resilience and countless hours in the pool. It comes from choosing discipline over excuses, showing up on the hard days, trusting the process and believing in yourself when progress isn't always obvious.

This week, our team of 9 swimmers proudly represented Portadown Amateur Swimming Club at the Irish Senior National Championships.

Caolan made 6 A finals, gaining significant pbs and achieved a gold medal 🏅 in his 50m breast 🏊‍♀️💪!!

Adrian had a great swim in his 50 fly at his first National event 🏊‍♀️💪!!

Faith had some fantastic swims, qualifying for the B final in the 200m back and finishing 17th in Ireland 🏊‍♀️💪!!

Gracie had a tremendous swim, sitting on her pb in her 50m fly 🏊‍♀️💪!!

Dylan had great swims in his events demonstrating grit and determination 🏊‍♀️💪!!

Molly swam brilliantly in her event continuing to build confidence and experience on the National stage 🏊‍♀️💪!!

Jegors, swimming in his first Nationals, gained a significant pb in his 100m back placing 23rd in Ireland 🏊‍♀️💪!!

Scarlett had great swims in her events, gaining a significant pb in her 100m fly placing 26th in Ireland 🏊‍♀️💪!!

Anna made 6 A finals, gaining significant pbs in her events and achieved a bronze medal 🥉in the 200m backstroke 🏊‍♀️💪!!

Well done to you all 👏👏.

Every one of these athletes earned their place on the national stage through dedication, sacrifice and relentless hard work. Competing against Ireland's very best is an achievement in itself, and each swimmer represented our club with courage, professionalism and pride.

What stood out most wasn't just the racing—it was the way this team supported one another. Every cheer from the stands, every word of encouragement behind the blocks and every celebration of a teammate's success reminded us what being part of Portadown ASC is all about.

A huge thank you to our coaches, team managers, volunteers and parents whose commitment behind the scenes makes opportunities like this possible. Your support never goes unnoticed.

In a world that celebrates quick success, instant results, and easy wins, swimming success is built on quite the opposite.

Character is built in the quiet moments—when no one is watching, with the early morning starts and the grind that very few see.

Our small but mighty team of 5 swimmers headed to Limerick last week for the Irish Summer Age Group Nationals where they excelled!!!

Gabriele - fantastic swimming in her events within a tough age group demonstrating grit and determination 💪🏊‍♀️.

Alfie - unreal swimming in his events with great pbs demonstrating determination and teamwork 💪🏊‍♀️.

Eva - amazing swimming in her events, making 2 B finals in the 100m backstroke and the 200m backstroke gaining more pbs 💪🏊‍♀️.

Lucy - phenomenal swimming in her events, making a B final in her 100m breaststroke, an A final in her 200m breaststroke and gaining significant pbs. Lucy is now seeded 8th in Ireland in the 200m breaststroke and was the only girl from an Ulster club to make the A final in her age group 💪🏊‍♀️.

Will - brilliant swimming in his events, making 5 A finals, gaining great pbs and receiving a bronze medal 🥉 in the 200m free and a silver medal 🥈 in the 100m free 💪🏊‍♀️.

This team also finished 4th in both their mixed relays smashing their pbs and are the highest placed Ulster club in both events.

More than that, these kids were just fabulous 👌. They supported each other, they inspired each other and really showed what it truly means to be a team. To say we are proud is just an understatement, they represented our club on the National stage with class and integrity which is no mean feat considering their age.

Thanks to our volunteers - Paul and Gracie, our coaches who did a fantastic job and to our team managers Katie, Tana and Ruth.

Next up is Dublin for our 10 swimmers who have qualified for the Senior Irish Nationals.

On Saturday PASC ran its Try-A-Tri event - an opportunity for everyone to complete a triathlon.

Starting in the pool at South Lakes Leisure Centre before jumping out into a chilly morning to complete laps by bike and by foot, athletes stormed their way around the course!

We are delighted to host our ever popular Try-a-Tri event at South Lake Leisure Centre this Sat morning at 7:30am, and we are extending the invitation to siblings of PASC members and swimmers from neighbouring clubs aged 8-18.

This is an introduction to Triathlon/Aquathlon in the familiar environment of a pool for the swim. This year we have electronic chip timing and all participants will receive a medal 🥇 and refreshments afterwards - but you need to register below by 5pm on Thur 14th May 2026⏰! Spaces are limited to 100 participants total, when we're full we're full💯!

What a packed 3 days of racing for PASC 🏊‍♀️💪!!

It is fair to say our swimmers surpassed themselves over the 3 day Swim Ulster event. It is a major achievement to even qualify for this event let alone to get pbs, make finals and get medals.

Thanks to all our parents who stepped up and filled job roles and also huge thanks to our coaches. Most importantly, thanks to our swimmers who worked so hard and held their nerve to perform with style and speed. The club is so proud of you all 💪🏊‍♀️♥️🖤.
