The Inn at Cranborne is a 17th Inn at the heart of the beautiful village of Cranborne, Dorset.The Inn's Menu showcases produce only sourced within miles of The Inn and grown in The Inn's cottage gardens. e provided.The Inn sits in the area called the Cranborne Chase, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has been used for centuries as a playground for outdoor pursuits and sports. The Inn has served the village and played host to travellers from all walks of life for centuries including Thomas Hardy, whose Chaseborough from Tess of the D'Urbervilles was based on Cranborne, visited the Inn in the late C19th and smugglers used the Inn as a base at one stage.

The Fleur de Lys boasts all the features that one expects from a country pub; low ceilings, exposed beams, open fires and plenty of cosy corners.

Thomas Hardy stayed here regularly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and referenced the pub, ‘Flower-de-Luce’ in Tess of the D’Urbervilles . These days our nine ensuite guest rooms blend traditional charm with contemporary luxuries, for an elegant and calming finish.

For us, there’s nothing more sad than seeing a pub with its doors closed.

That’s why we’re cracking on to bring this beloved local back to life as soon as we can.

When we swing those doors open again next month, you’ll find nine newly refurbished en suite bedrooms, along with plenty of proper beer and a great wine list.

In the meantime, we’re looking for great people who’d like to work with us full + part time at the pub.
