We are back in the garden with Diana! This time outside our Girnock cottage. We let Diana have free reign with our planters. She does a wonderful job of choosing a selection of plants and flowers which create a calming and relaxing environment for our guests who need it most. 💚

It has been great weather lately for exploring our beautiful outdoor spaces. 🌞

Here is Diana showing us around some more of our plants, some of which were very kindly donated to us by the Ballater Royal Horticultural Society. The others have been purchased by us, thanks to various donations including the Co-op community fund. We bought the plants from The Seed Box Ltd in Banchory with help from Belinda, their Manager.

Thank you all for helping us make our gardens look lovely!

Right from our doorstep you can discover the fascinating Balmoral Cairns located across Balmoral Estate on this scenic circular walk.

Along the route, you’ll enjoy stunning views as well as glimpses of Balmoral Castle itself. The walk is 6 miles long and takes around 3 hours to complete.

Our volunteer gardener Colin took Maggie on a tour of the wildflower meadow, which is looking lovely. Join them and see how things are coming along and listen out for the story behind the name of the Forget-me not!

You will see Colin’s bench where guests are welcome to sit and enjoy some peace and quiet in the beautiful surroundings. The most relaxing spot! And great for selfies too!! 🤭

We are very lucky to be located right next to Balmoral Castle.

You can walk there from our cottages. Balmoral Castle is open through the Summer until 9th August. General admission will grant you access to walk around the grounds, access to the Castle Ballroom and the shop and restaurant.
