We've recently installed a Nest system to improve our energy efficiency, and guests seem to be finding it very easy to use. We still have some availability in March and into the Easter Holidays, so get in touch of you'd like to stay this spring :)

We're so happy to have been named as Air BnB Superhosts! Thank you to all our lovely guests and especially to Kelle Thomas for keeping the house absolutely immaculate through a very difficult year.

New, original art for the cottage thanks to Bertie Weal. This is a watercolour of one of the first flies we'll be using when the season opens on 3rd March. If we get a warm afternoon, there could be a flurry of excitement as these large, up winged invertebrates start to hatch and send the trout crazy for an hour or so. Bertie is painting these to order to raise money for the Angling Trust's Fish Legal team, who are the fighting arm of the collective water lovers campaigns against pollution and other issues with our waterways. Look him up on Facebook, or on Instagram to get in touch.

It's been chilly here today at times, but the sun's getting higher in the sky every day, and it had a lovely warmth to it when it was out. The river has dropped right back, and its running crystal clear. Let's hope we can see an end to Tier 4 restrictions soon and welcome you to stay soon.

The cottage is looking lovely, with stunning Autumn colours all around Crickhowell and most of our local businesses open. We're looking forward to a new Craft Beer Micro Bar opening on the High Street very soon. With the various lockdowns, we've not had many guests to stay, but are taking bookings for the rest of this year and into what we hope will be a brighter 2021. :)

After having a lovely guest to stay all week, Kelle's been busy doing a same day changeover. We've had Lewis from The Window Gleamers in Abergavenny visit to clean the skylight. Something no other window cleaner has been able to do for us! Chwarae Teg! We've also put a new mirror up in the bathroom and refilled the soaps and cleaning products at Natural Weigh. Still fully booked for the next couple of weeks as people are coming to enjoy this Indian Summer in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

A late finish and thanks so much to my new cleaner Kelle for staying and working until 9pm to get the cottage ready for tomorrow. It's looking beautiful now after six months of floods, plagues and a lot of great work from. Ben Whithy, Wayne and Stevie Carter. Thank you guys. We're now looking forward to welcoming you to Crickhowell. Get in touch if you'd like to book for October onwards and a few days are available in September.
